The National Institute of Engineering is located in Mysore established in the year 1946 by the visionary engineers- Sri Ramaswamy, Sri D V Narsimha, Sri T Rama Rao. The college became prestige since its inception for providing quality education. The college is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum.NIE offers 7 Bachelor, 11 Master’s and 5 Post-graduate Diploma programmes and has 13 Centres of Excellence. The student strength is about 3500.

National Institute of Engineering Application Form

Application Form can be obtained from the official website. The application procedure is as follows:

  • Visit the official website.
  • Register on the website and generate a password. 
  • Fill out the details carefully.
  • Submit the application form after completion.
  • Pay the application fee online.
  • Take a printout of the confirmation page for future reference.
  • Documents for B.Tech Students:
  •  10th/SSLC Marks Card – Original + 2 sets of Photocopy
  •  12th/PUC Marks Card – Original + 2 sets of Photocopy
  •  Transfer Certificate – Original + 2 sets of Photocopy
  •  Caste Certificate in case of SC/ST Candidates ( For Karnataka students only)
  •  Photographs – 4 Passport +4 Stamp Size
  •  Anti Ragging Affidavit on a Stamp Paper of Rs.20/- ( Format will be provided by the college ).

Students who have passed out from Boards/University other than the Karnataka PU Board should also submit in addition to the above-mentioned documents:

  • Migration Certificate – Original + 2 sets of Photocopy

Entrance Exam accepted by National Institute of Engineering

KCET(Karnataka Common Entrance test)

KCET stands for Karnataka Common Entrance Test. It is conducted by the Karnataka Education Authority(KEA) for admission in different undergraduate courses of Karnataka.

KCET Application Form

KEA conducts KCET exams. Candidates can apply for the Entrance exam on the official website.

  • Visit the official website.
  • Fill the details asked and check it.
  • Pay the fees using the online method and take a printout of the confirmation page.
  • After the submission of the form, take at least two printouts for reference.
  • Candidates can download admit card before exams and preserve it till they get admission in college.

KCET Syllabus

The question papers of the Common Entrance Test will be based on the First and Second PUC syllabus prescribed by the Department of Pre-University Education of Karnataka State.

KCET Pattern

KCET is conducted for two days. Each day has two sessions. On the first day, Biology and Mathematics are conducted in two sessions. On the second day, Physics and Chemistry are conducted.

Question paper is MCQ type and there is no negative marking for the wrong answers.

COMEDK

The Karnataka Private Medical & Dental Colleges Association namely “Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka”, COMEDK also conducts entrance examinations for all students irrespective of state. After the COMEDK entrance test is administered and the test scores and rank lists have been published, centralized counselling will be conducted. Students are given the option of selecting the college of their choice during COMEDK counselling and can choose CMRIT at this time.

PGCET

The Karnataka Post Graduate Common Entrance Test is conducted in the months of May / June each year. This test is a requirement for admission to colleges affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University. PGCET Counseling will be conducted based on the ranks that students (Karnataka candidates only) obtain in the written exam. Qualifying students can choose CMRIT at the time of Centralized Counseling.

National Institute of Technology B.Tech Admission 2023

National Institute of Technology offers BE in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Information Science and Engineering, Industrial and Production Engineering as an undergraduate course. Admission to the course is done based on merit in the entrance exams.

National Institute of Technology B.Tech Eligibility

Students who are interested in B.Tech admission in the college should have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects from a recognised university to be eligible. The detailed eligibility and admission mode is given in the table below:

NIE offers M.Tech in Structural Engineering, Power Systems, Production Engineering System, Computer Networking and Engineering, Hydraulics Engineering, Industrial Automation, Information Technology, Machine Design, Nano Technology and MCA as a postgraduate course. Admission to the courses is done based on PGCET examination.

National Insitute of Technology PG Eligibility 

Students who are interested in PG courses should have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum aggregate in relevant stream from a recognised university to be eligible for admission in the college. The eligibility and admission mode details are provided in the table below:

Entrance Exams & Admissions : You can get the seat through KCET COMEDK and through Management seats. Different cutoffs are based on different branches.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The Entrance exam is KCET, COMEDK UGET, D-Cet only. I took KCET 2000-4000 is the cut off for general category and for OBC and other castes it goes up to 15000 rankings in KCET.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : PUC completed or Diploma completed. Admission through KCET or DCET ranking within the prescribed year. DCET cutoff is 6000.
