The Hyderabad Medical School, founded in 1846, was the precursor to Osmania Medical College, with Urdu as the medium of instruction and the degree titled Hakeem. Nawab Mir Osman Ali Khan established Osmania University, followed by Hyderabad Medical College in 1920. After Hyderabad became the capital of Andhra Pradesh in 1957, significant strides were made in medical education. Osmania Medical College Admissions

 Admission is based on NEET UG, NEET PG, and NEET SS scores. Candidates must have valid NEET scores and participate in counselling. For 85% of state quota seats, counselling is handled by Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), while 15% of All India Quota seats are allocated through MCC counselling.
