Riya | Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Hons.} (Political Science), batch of 2022

So back to my admission days, they were really tough because admission is not easy in Delhi University. The eligibility criteria for political science was 98% in the first cut off for general category then eventually it came to 95% in the second but my percentage was 92. So I was really scared. I took admission in any course that was available to me because I find that Maitreyi college has some other vibes which I didn’t want to miss. Later in the last cut off, The cut off for pol science Hons. general category came to 92% and I immediately took admission in my dream course. My second preference was B.el.ed as I want to pursue my career in teaching. I gave an entrance examination which I cleared but did not get admission in any got or reputed college.
The cut-offs for course like B.A. Hons. (Political science) for general category is always high. As I mentioned above, the ‘last’ cut off was 92 in Maitreyi. Other colleges like LSR do not give cut-offs below 98%

Eligibility: Candidate should pass 12 class with minimum 50% can fill the application form for admission. The admission will be held on the cut off basis there is no entrance test for any course in college. Cutoffs differ from categories to categories if you are generally so you should have more than 85% in order to get the admission in college but if you are OBC, SC, ST then you need comparatively low marks than general category students because you will get a relaxation from 5 to 10 %.

Since it’s a girls' college the majority of the faculty is female. The teaching is excellent though communication is predominantly in English, which may be a problem for vernacular-medium students. Students feel that the faculty is one of the best in Delhi University (DU) and they rate the Macro-economics teacher as the best of the lot.

The eligibility at criteria at Maitreya college, Delhi University, New Delhi for my course was that the person should have completed her 12th grade. And it's a girls college. There were no entrance exams ( completely merit based entrance). This year the first cutoff for general candidates in my course was 93%.
