As per my knowledge there is no hostel in ignou . Canteen on one hand is well established. Library is available in offline as well as online. One can register for online e- library. Overall the infrastructure is not so good .

You can find hostels for cheap price and PG/rented rooms/flats and other options near the university. Since there is only one day class so there are no hostels inside the university.

Hostels are not available. PGs is available. The fee is INR 3 thousand. Canteen is per meal cost INR 50 rupees starting. Quality is classroom ect is good and wifi available.

Ignou doesn't have any hostel but it is nearby your hometown in all over India. Canteen is available in every center of ignou the cost for the meals is an asper chart of college canteen. Ignou has the facility of the classroom, labs libraries.

There is a number of hotels nearby the campus. Hostels are good. Hostel fee is INR 3000 to 3600 per month. Cantine is too good and the variety of food is there. Per meal costs around INR 30 to 50 Classes, labs, land library all are in good condition. WiFi is poor here.

Infrastructure Facilities at Indira Gandhi National Open University, [IGNOU] New Delhi:

Campus:

In 1999, IGNOU launched the first virtual campus in India, beginning with the delivery of Computer and Information Sciences courses via the Internet.

Library: 

  • The library of Indira Gandhi National Open University has over 42 lakhs full-text academic articles and more than 52,000 e-books
  • The library of the university is divided into the following sections - Acquisition Section, Technical Processing Section, Periodicals Section, Circulation Section, IT and Computer Section and Administration Section.
  • The IGNOU library is the most resourceful information centre in the country in the field of Distance Education.
  • The library has the largest collection of books, journals and other related materials in the field of Distance Education, throughout the country. It was established in 1986 in tune with the objectives of IGNOU.
  • Acquisition Section of the Library deals with the purchase of books, reference books, textbooks serial publication and multi-volume books.
  • Technical services are the "behind the scene" activities that a library undertakes to effectively deliver library services to the public.
  • Periodical section handles Print as well as electronic Journals Databases. Processes Journal subscriptions, renewals, orders, payments/advances, Journals receipts, bound volumes every year. Maintains budget (s), accounts and statistics. Regulates the shelf arrangement of the current journals, displays recent arrivals daily.
  • This is the front end of library operations providing the lending services to the library users. All the functions of this section are computerised and the transactions in this section are based on the barcode technology.  
  • IT and Computer Section is the hub which monitors all the computerised activities of the library i.e., the back-end of automation activities in the library.
  • Administration section handles Budget proposals and monitors the overall expenditure incurred in the Library including settlement of bills, Advances, Imprest amounts etc. Purchase of Equipment and other materials needed for library operation Maintenance of Stock, assets and Consumable registers including stock verification.
