HPNLU, or Himachal Pradesh National Law University, is a state university established in 2016. HPNLU, Shimla, is a public law university offering undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate courses in law. Admissions to these courses are based on CLAT scores. 

HPNLU is a UGC and BCI-accredited university. HPNLU offers BALLB, BBA LLB, LLM and PhD.  It has a 10-acre campus in Shimla and is operational from Himachal Pradesh Judicial Academy. HPNLU's first batch graduated in 2021, and 53 students graduated from the university with flying colours.

HPNLU Admission

HPNLU admissions 2024 will begin in June 2024. HPNLU offers admission to undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate courses in law. These include BALLB, BBA LLB, LLM, MBA LLB and PhD. Admissions are based on the CLAT exam.

HPNLU Eligibility Criteria

Before applying for admission to HPNLU, the students must meet the institute's eligibility criteria. 

BA LLB/ BBA LLB Eligibility Criteria

• The candidate should have passed XII (10+2) examination from any recognised Board with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for S.C. /S.T. candidates).
• The candidate must appear for the CLAT examination.

LLM Eligibility Criteria

• The candidate should have a Three or Five years LL.B Degree from any Indian or Foreign University recognised by the UGC with at least 50% marks or equivalent grade [45% for SC/ST Candidates].
• The candidate must appear for the CLAT-PG examination.

HPNLU concluded its first batch of placements in 2021. A total of 53 students graduated from HPNLU and gave a remarkable result to the university. The placements are conducted in five steps
