Shaheed Bhagat Singh college, one of the oldest and well known college of Delhi University which was established in 1967. For taking admissions u have to score according to their cutoffs. Usually for b.com and b.com hons student has to bring 92% in 12th boards examination. And the most important thing is that it's a government college and also provides placement to the students.

Eligibility criteria for Shaheed Bhagat Singh College was based on the result of Class 12th board exams. The higher you score the better the college you get. Top 4 subjects was included for this criteria with English as a compulsory subject. The typical cutoff  at Shaheed Bhagat Singh College ranges from 94.5 to 95.5% of your board exams. There was no entrance test as such and I was a part of Guinea pig experiment of FYUP which was scrapped only after a year thereby not going through the batch.

  • Shaheed Bhagat Singh College the only college on my wishlist when i took my board examination, and was fortunate enough to get admission in it.
  • Well, then there was no entrance examination and cutoffs were the only hurdles to be taken care of.
  • 1st cutoff was near to 97.25% and left me heart broken.
  • Then it gradually decline over the next cutoffs from 97.25% in first cutoff to 95.75% in the third cutoff and in the last it was 95% in the 5th cutoff (General) and i did not get admission till then.
  • Few seats remained vacant after the 5th cutoff and so merit list were decided to be brought out.
  • The first merit list stood at a high of 94.75% and i got my name in it.
  • But i took admission in the second merit list that came to 94.5%.
  • It was worth waiting for the merit list to come up:)

  • Admission procedure was quite lengthy . Even on a college website, they posted something different but in reality, it is somewhat different. There is no entrance exam actually for taking admission in Delhi university.
  • But cutoffs are quite high ranging from 95%
