Placements in CSE is good compared to other branches. Most companies are in IT industry like Cognizant, Amazon, DXC, MuSigma, etc. The companies recruit for various domains and offer the salary ranging from INR 3 L to 12 L pa or more. The average salary is about INR 5 L.

There are 7 hostels for boys and 4 for girls each having option for attached/non attached bathrooms and AC/non AC. Hostel fee ranges from INR 94000-300000 pa. The top being the NRI hostel. There are many PG options available: Potheri-walking distance, Abode Valley-1km, Estancia-2km, VGN-3km, Akshaya-7km. Food quality is up to the mark. 

The basic requirement is to have minimum 75% average in PCM. In addition, the students should take the SRMJEEE exam which is of 360 marks.

Classes start from 8 am in the morning till 5 pm with an hour gap for lunch at 12. During every semester, students have to make mini projects or assignments for the better understanding of the course. The teaching staff are well trained and have good communication skills.

The fee for CSE department is INR 2 Lakhs per year. Students are offered various scholarships like sports, merit(12 and SRMJEEE), minority. Students can also apply for financial aid if he/she belongs to marginal income family. Students can avail education loans from banks like Canara Bank, SBI, HDFC, Axis and more.

Students get exposure to a diverse culture and clubs. Clubs include Camber Racing, Google, Aakash, SRMSAT, SRMUAV, SRM search engine and many more. Other clubs include dance, drama, fashion, pr, and media. The college organizes fests and competitions for all the departments along with Tech talks and workshops.
