Placements and Internships
- The placements in Welingkar are acceptable for the amount of work experience the students require(1-2yrs)
- The average package was about 7 LPA but if you were in the top quartile of your class you usually get a package of about 9 lPA.
- The key companies that hire in Welingkar belong to BFSI, IT and Tech space.
- There are also some media and marketing companies that come but they hire a small no of people. Average salary: 7 LPA Highest salary: 25 LPA % of students placed: 100%
- Welingkar has a vast alumni network since it is a 30-year-old college.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- Welingkar has 2 hostels; one for men and the other for women.
- The hostel fees are about Rs 1 lakh per year for AC rooms.
- There are lots of PG options available for students around the college with great facilities.
- There is an insane number of restaurants that are near Welingkar and the student can eat a new cuisine every day of the week.
- The night life is also very good as Welingkar is equidistant from Bandra and lower Parel.
- The classrooms are bare bones but with AC and excellent WiFi, the library is very resourceful and most books are available there.
- Welingkar also has a mini theater which the students can book free of cost.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- Welingkar accepts most competitive exam scores.
- The cut-offs are Cat: +90%ile Cet: +90%ile.
Academics and Faculty
- Welingkar focusses on a lot of classroom training.
- Most of the faculty is very well read with some being extremely successful in their own professions.
- The college timings are officially 9:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m. and formals are compulsory.
- Welingkar follows a trimester pattern with a 7 point Grade point rating system.
- Overall the teaching faculty and pedagogy is at par with the best institutes of India.
Fees and Scholarships
- The average course fee is Rs 4 lakh/yr, Rs 8 lakh for 2 years.
- There aren't any scholarships for students but at the end of the year, the director announces best student prizes which amount to about Rs 2 lakh.
- There were some students with student loans at Welingkar.
- SBI being their go-to bank, the interest rates were about 14% and the loans are usually easily available.
Clubs and Associations
- Welingkar doesn't really have a lot of student societies which is its biggest weak point.
- Its main student bodies are management council and placement council which organizes all the events and placements in the college.
- The biggest being global peace initiative wherein celebrities walk the ramp for charity in the college.
- The college also organizes the biggest inter MBA cricket cup called Impact.
- The college life in Welingkar is extremely vibrant owning to its great location.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The eligibility criteria at Prin L N Welingkar Institute of Management Development & Research, Mumbai is that the candidate must be a graduate in any discipline. The admissions at the University are done on the basis of marks obtained in CAT, CET, ATMA.
Entrance Exams & Admissions : The Eligibility criteria to secure your seat in this prestigious institute is to have at least 50 percent aggregate marks in your graduation, must have given any of the entrance examinations like MHT CET, CAT, XAT, ATMA or CMAT for the current year. In my case, I had Given CAT and MHT CET, which I guess is sufficient to get the college you desire, as CAT is widely accepted by all the institutes and universities. Welingkar Institute of Management offers various courses for masters in management. Apart from MMS. you can also choose to go for PGDM. The courses offered in PGDM include Business Design, E-Bizz, Retail management, Healthcare Management. Depending upon the year the cutoffs of the institute vary, but in general, you require at least 96 to 98 percentile in CET to secure a seat. But only Entrance test is not the only test required, Welingkar conducts its own online
