Placements and Internships
- I finished an internship at Intuit,Bengaluru with around 33k as the stipend.
- Global firms like Google, Microsoft, GoldmanSachs, Bain and Co, Blackstone, Boston CG, Citi Bank, P&G and many more (IT,manufacturing,marketing and many more) hire from IIT Bombay.
- Rs.12 lakh is the average base package. Highest goes till Rs.1 to 1.5 crore. About 80% get placed.
- There are many clubs and institutes which take care of good relationship with alumni. They love the institute.They contribute a lot in back after passign out to institute.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- There are 17 hostels. 13k is the hostel fee per semester. In our college, we will have to stay in the hostel.
- The mess in some hostels is good. Our hostel mess is good. Some mess is bad too. Around 100 is the cost for all meals throughout the day.
- Wifi is available with full speed almost everywhere. Labs are well equipped with AC's, systems and open 24hrs.
- Classrooms have AC's too and the atmosphere everywhere is awesome.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- We will have to crack IIT-JEE with a top rank. Students in general category will get CS in IIT Bombay only if their rank is around 60. It is the most preferred course and college in India. There is high competition to get into CS.
- We have to crack the IIT - JEE exam to get an admission.
- Cut off is usually around 60-70 rank for general category students this course. For other category students, it might vary. For,OBC it is around 300-400. For SC,ST's is around 500-1000.
Academics and Faculty
- Usually, classes and labs get over between 8:30 AM to 7:30 PM. Many times by 5 PM.
- There are quizzes conducted (around 3) every semester for a course in general ( it may vary with the course ) and mid-semester exams in the middle of the semester and end-semester exams.
- The quality and method of teaching are excellent. We have the best faculty.
- There are excellent minds here.The interaction is awesome. You get to learn a lot from the professors, classmates, and your books.
- However since people study very much, there are some cases where a student gets depressed due to lack of excellent academic performance.
Fees and Scholarships
- The course fee is around Rs.1.6 lakhs. But they were planning to increase the fees for coming years.
- The institute offers scholarships for people with low income.
- Most of the people who are eligible for the low-income criteria got it.
Clubs and Associations
- There are many many clubs in IIT Bombay. There are many to name. Dance club (INSYNC), music club, design club, rang club, and much more.
- Main festivals are Mood Indigo(cult), Techfest(tech), and E-Summit(entrepreneurship).
- Life is boundless. If you want to do anything here, there is support everywhere. There is nothing you can't do here. People here help each other a lot. It is known for senior-junior interaction.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : JEE ADVANCED is the entrance exam. The cutoff was very high I don't remember though but it was something around 124 out of 360.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : To be eligible for IIT BOMBAY for BTech an individual should have to qualify IIT JEE advance conducted by CBSE with a good percentile of marks Cut off for mains is about 100 for general and it then reduces as per caste.

Academics & Faculty : This Institute is one of the best in India. The professors are really helpful and even the seniors are very supportive and helpful.
