Placements and Internships
- IT Companies do come for placements and there are also pool campuses for many companies.
- The Highest salary package for the year 2015 was 10 lakhs per annum by SAP.
- The average salary is 3.5 LPA.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- NIST has 3 hostels in campus and rest in the Berhampur town for first years.
- PGs are also available in the town but they are far away from the campus.
- Food in the hostel is so so.
- The classrooms have projectors and microphones and loudspeakers. We have 2 multi-storey libraries at NIST.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- You can take admission on the basis of your JEE MAIN score or OJEscoreoe both are applicable to take admissions in National Institute of Science and Technology, Odisha.
- I took admission through JEE Mains score. The cut off of computer science and ECE branches are usually high at NIST.
Academics and Faculty
- The classes are of 100 minutes to make the students ready for the corporate sector where there is rigorous 8hours work.
- The quality of teaching is good. The college provides good platform to develops academics. there is no need for extra coachings.
Fees and Scholarships
- The B.tech course fees are Rs.1,42,500 per year plus monthly mess bills.
- Students of National Institute of Science and Technology are provided many kinds of scholarships granted by college and faculties on the basis of performance.
- Loans are needed for the middle class family because paying around 2 Lakh per year is a big deal.
Clubs and Associations
- There are around 12 clubs at NIST and stills counting on. For eg. NIST Astronomy Club,NIST Renewable Club etc.
- There are two festivals one is tech fest named SANKALP and the other is WAVES.
- College life is too busy.
