Placements and Internships
- NMIT takes internship and placement very seriously.Every student after completing his/her 3 year of engineering has to take up an internship or mini-project or self-studies which are reviewed and evaluated in the final year and has credits.
- College itself provides few departments where you can pursue your internship such as STUDSAT (student satellite department), robotics and few in mechanical .Placement is a serious affair in the college.
- NMIT provides almost 100% placement for ECE, CS and ISE departments.
- Placements of EEE, Mechanical, Civil, Aeronautical etc are not all that great.
- Key companies that visit NMIT every year are KPIT(core ECE company), ERICSSON, INFOSYS, WIPRO, CAPGEMINI, HUWAWEI, MICROSOFT(tech support) etc.
- And it is becoming better every year.
- The average salary figure that an NMITian gets is around Rs 3.5lakhs per annum and the highest depends upon your capability because college provides enough opportunities to go for pool campuses.
- The highest salary from my batch(placement season is not yet over,this data are after 7 sem) is Rs 16LPA from CSE (company-Nutanix).
- The college has a very good environment for personal growth because the alumni network is pretty strong and the seniors are very supportive and encouraging.Few examples of NMIT alumni are VIJITH QUADROS(upcoming entrepreneur), SALMAN (who doesn't know, DID winner) etc.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- NMIT has 5 hostels in total inside the college premises(3 boys hostel 2 girls hostel).
- The yearly fee for the hostel is around Rs 50000-60000.
- You have to pay on monthly basis for the mess service whose fee is approx Rs 25000 per month.
- The food provided is hygienic and good, you get a lot of variety and variation (and on festivals, you get special food).
- The quality of classrooms and labs are above average.
- There is one problem labs have wifi but overall premises is not a wifi zone.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- Hello everyone, this is Vaishali and I would like to share my feedback about my college(NMIT, bangalore).
- Well, I had written COMEDK UGET entrance examination in the year 2013, where I don't remember my exact marks but it was around 75-80 and my rank was 10K (approx), and I was among the first 30-35 people who opted for this college, so at that time with this rank you could have got any of the branch in the college easily.
- But I must tell you the picture is not the same anymore.
- With the increasing competition, the sectional cutoff for each branch has gone pretty high.
- The typical cutoff for ECE would be around 70-80 easily these days.
Academics and Faculty
- NMIT is pretty strict about attendance, you have to maintain 85% of attendance every semester.
- Classes are taken regularly(sometimes they don't give us holiday for bandh also).
- I wouldn't say quality and methods of teaching are amazing, it depends on the teacher.
- The experience is average overall.
- The overall experience in the college is pretty good because it provides you with lots of opportunities.
- It is up to you how you grab them.
- The college has a very good environment for people who are into sports as well.
Fees and Scholarships
- OK,fees of this college are regulated by COMEDK or KCET.
- That depend on which entrance exam you opted for.
- As I am a COMEDK student I pay COMEDK fee+ tuition fee to the college(which comes up to Rs 175000(including transportation), this would have definitely gone high because COMEDK fee increases every year).
- Scholarship options are given to foreign students.
- Branch toppers are rewarded with some scholarships at the end.
- But other than that scholarships are usually not given at NMIT(you should contact the administration to know more about scholarships).
Clubs and Associations
- ANADYANTA is our grand college fest which takes place in the even semester every year.
- It is huge and celebrated enthusiastically.
- To work with the fest we have an art club, photography club, sponsorship club, tech club etc, which are very active throughout the year.
- It's one of the biggest techno-cultural fest in Bangalore.
- We have our own team of basketball, football and cricket in college,which takes place in various VTU events.
- Overall life in college is pretty good.
- As it is an autonomous college it provides with you very opportunities and it is getting better every year.
- So if you want to have a peaceful life throughout your engineering with your personal growth, you can opt for this college without any hesitation.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : I got admission to the college through the DCET. I scored 2500 ranking in DCET and got a seat for ECE department.
Entrance Exams & Admissions : The eligibility criteria is as per the state government regulation. Applicants need to be from science background with Physics, Chemistry, Maths being compulsory subjects in their +1 and +2. And should have cleared the same with minimum of 60% marks. But the real entrance cut off is based on the competitive exams taken up by the applicant. The exams can be either CET,ComedK,JEE. The cutoff keeps varying every year and same can be cross checked. But certain number of seats will be allocated for each category of seats.
Academics & Faculty : I will always be indebted to my faculty at NMIT for the support and guidance that I have got throughout my years at NMIT. I had options of other colleges during my counseling, I had chosen NMIT after considering various nominal factors and references. After my graduation, I can definitely say that it was the right choice. The faculty, the facilities, and placement support have good quality. My experience at NMIT has been great.
Entrance Exams & Admissions : You have to write KCET or COMEDK for admission with fewer fees either management quota is available at good price and I wrote KCET with 7900 ranks and that's why I got this college this course you can get for 10000 rank in 2nd round with ease.
