Academics & Faculty : The routine at Birla Institute of Technology and Science, [BITS] Pilani is up to you to the maximum extent. Students have to plan their own timetable according to their convenience and teachers available, of course. But the most important and noteworthy thing here is that BITS follows a 0% attendance policy i.e.there is no minimum attendance required to pass a semester. Professors, Lecturers, and P.H.D. students take classes at specific times and its the student's choice of a teacher and his/her time. On an average, there are 25-30 hours of classes a week from 8 a.m. to 4.50 p.m. every day except half day till 1 on Saturday's. Assignments, quizzes, and tests happen at a regular basis. There are only two major examinations, mid-semester, and end-semester comprehensive exams. BITS follows a continuous evaluation scheme. Academics & Faculty : BITS is a great college academics wise. State of the art research facilities and competent faculty to help bring out the best in you. The semesters are well planned and the curriculum is not very rigorous which leaves you time to pursue specific areas of interest in the field of academia. However, like with all things it all comes down to one's own interest and drive to make the most of what the institute has to offer.
