Entrance exam - BITSAT. Typical cutoff these days are above 280 for MSc courses. The admission procedure is strict via BITSAT entrance exam. You have to fill your course preferences and your entrance exam score along with your preference list will be used to determine program you will finally be enrolling in. They have several iterations for the same ( usually around 4 iterations ). You may be able to get higher preferences during these iterations. Bits have 3 campuses in India - namely Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad. The procedure is common for all three campuses.

BITS boasts of having one of Asia's finest libraries. The infrastructure is overall good with nice classrooms, well-equipped labs and internet connectivity.
Be it the chilly winter mornings when you can barely feel your hands or the moist hot days of summers, classes at BITS start at 8 a.m. in the morning and end in the evening at 5 p.m. The duration of each lecture is 50mins. 10mins at the end of each hour are given so that the students can go to their next class. Here, there is no fixed class. Rather, since the students make their timetable, choose their classes and professors on their own, they need to go to different classes for each subject. It is funny how you keep changing classrooms for each course. There are exams and weekly tutorial tests going on throughout the semester at the end of which there is a comprehensive exam for every course.
BITS has one of the best faculty and the methods of teaching are very different. They follow both print and digital media. Lectures are taken int he lecture hall with the help of the PPTs. Students read from these PPTs as well as books for every subject. Rote learning is not promoted. There are many societies and clubs on the campus which provide a lot of opportunities to showcase our talents. Many festivals are conducted too on the campus, I have heard of the oasis as being one of the largest festivals in Asia and I am yet to experience it. The life in college is not like a roller coaster and of course not a smooth one too. There are many hips and hops that take place and we have to adapt according to it. In general life here is a dream come true sort of thing with a twist to it.
There are many hostels ( 10, I guess) in the campus and the hostel fee per month is approx INR 10k. I don't know much about the PGs as I am a fresher and just joined the institute. The food and other facilities such as classrooms, labs, libraries, dining halls, Wi-Fi and other key infrastructure are awesome and at par with the standards.
The daily routine comprises of projects, exams, and assignments, while the exams occur at the end of the semester, the assignment is given at regular basis. The quality and method are the best available in the country. The overall experience is amazing with coding at the prima facie of the institute.

Bits Pilani is a premium private institute in Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad. The eligibility criteria for entering the institute is to be 18 years and should have been qualified 10+2 with minimum 60 percent aggregate in the 10+2 exams. The institute conducts its own entrance test known as BITSAT on the basis of which it admits the students. The cutoff generally varies over a large range of different courses, the cutoff for my course i.e. computer science and engineering was 382 in the previous year.
