What Is NCVT? Full Form, Meaning, and Importance

NCVT full form is the National Council of Vocational Training, an advisory body set by the Indian Government in 1956. NCVT follows principles and guidelines released by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Directorate General of Training (DGT), Government of India.

What is NCVT & NCVT Certificate?

NCVT, the National Council for Vocational Training, is an advisory body that the Government of India set up in 1956. The council was previously known as the National Council of Training in Vocational Trades (NCTVT) that worked according to specified guidelines of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Directorate General of Training (DGT), Government of India.

NCVT is entrusted with advising the Government of India on overall policy/programs, specifying necessary standards and curriculum for craftsmen training and conducting All-India Tests, and awarding candidates with National Trade Certificates. The NCVT performs tests such as the All India Trade Test (AITT), Apprenticeship Training Scheme (ATS), and Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS).

Another council known as the SCVT deals with the same matters as NCVT does but at the state level. The full form of SCVT is the State Council for Vocational Training, and it is a small fragment of the NCVT and works at the state level.

NCVT Certificate is a certificate awarded on the completion of ITI courses under the purview of the NCVT. NCVT Certificate is quite crucial as it signifies that the candidate has completed the course. It opens up opportunities for the candidates. As mentioned above, exams conducted by the NCVT include Craftsman Training Scheme (CTS), Apprentice Training Scheme (ATS) and All India Trade Test (AITT). The Directorate General of Training (DGT) oversees the operations of Industrial Training Institutes across India. The ITIs are affiliated with the National Council for Vocational Training, the body responsible for implementing the strategies of the DGT. The course examination is known as the NCVT ITI Semester Examination and is conducted in 4 semesters.

NCVT MIS Apprenticeship

The National Council of Vocational training has built a Management Information System (NCVT MIS) to relate and reach out to students. The NCVT MIS system is typically an administrative information system having a computerized database of details regarding the candidates and enrollments for both Engineering and Non-Engineering skill development programs offered in various Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs).

The NCVT controls the ITIs as per the Indian Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. They conduct examinations or assessments on a semester basis, consisting of four semesters in total. The NCVT MIS produces the reports regarding admission, timetable, hall ticket, and result. Students can visit the official website of the NCVT MIS portal for further references.

NCVT MIS ITI Program

The full form of NCVT ITI is Industrial Training Institute. This program has been designed to deliver learning in crafts, skills, and training. It has been initiated under Directorate General Employment and Training (DGET), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and the Union Government.

The exams for ITI will begin tentatively in August. Candidates who completed their 10th/ 12th are also eligible to apply for NCVT ITI training program exams.

How to Apply for NCVT MIS Apprenticeship?

For the NCVT MIS apprenticeship or NCVT Trainee Profile, candidates will have to apply directly through the official NCVT MIS home.

Below are the steps to be followed for the NCVT MIS apprenticeship registration.

• Click on the 'Apprentice' link on the official website, i.e., apprenticeship.gov.in.
• Select the apprentices' section provided on the homepage.
• Choose the option 'Candidate Registration.' It will redirect candidates to the application page.
• Complete the application form for the successful registration for apprenticeship training.
• Enter the necessary details such as,

• Trade Preference (opt 3)
• Finally, upload the passport size photograph and DOB document.
• Click on the 'Submit' button.

NCVT MIS Timetable

The exam dates for the NCVT ITI will be officially declared on the NCVT portal. The exam for both the All India Training Test (AITT) and Apprenticeship Training Scheme (ATS) will be conducted in July and August every year. These exams will be conducted as per the guidelines of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Directorate General of Training (DGT), Government of India.

NCVT MIS ITI Admit Card

Candidates must carry the admit card to the examination hall; without an admit card, candidates will not be allowed to write the exam. The applicants can download their NCVT MIS ITI admit card from the NCVT MIS home.

• On the 'Notifications' page, click on the link provided for the admit card.
• Enter the login credentials that have been provided to candidates at the time of registration.

NCVT MIS Result

The NCVT MIS Results will be available on the official NCVT MIS website in the form of test scores, practical marks, and ranking.

• Visit the official NCVT MIS portal.
• Click on the 'Verification' button, and select the Mark Sheet Verification option.
• Enter 'Registration Number' and select the semester for which you have given the exam.
• The NCVT MIS ITI Result will be displayed on the screen.
• Take a printout of results and keep it for future use.
