NCHMCT JEE Counselling 2021: Dates, Registration, Seat Allotment

After the NCHMCT JEE results, candidates who have cleared the NCHMCT JEE 2021 will be called for the counselling process which will be held a few days after the announcement of result, tentatively in May, 2021.

NCHMCT JEE Counselling Rounds: There shall be three rounds of Counselling on the basis of merit. Every round will observe exclusive registration process.

NCHMCT JEE Admission Fee: There is no exclusive fee for the registration of NCHMCT JEE Counselling, however, the candidate will have to deposit Seat Acceptance Fee INR 57,500. This amount constitutes a seat acceptance fee/first-semester fee of INR 56,5000 and Counselling Fee of INR 1000.

Transfer/Migration: National Council does not allow inter-institute transfer or migration on any ground during the entire duration of course since the allotment of Institute is done on merit-cum-choice only.

Registration for NCHMCT JEE 2021 Counselling

All eligible candidates must register themselves online in order to be considered for NCHMCT JEE 2021 Seat Allotment in the 1st and 2nd round of NCHMCT JEE Counselling. The steps are given below:

  • Visit the website of NCHMCT JEE Counselling and find the relevant link ‘Online Registration and Choice Filling’

  • Register as a new candidate by clicking the link “New Candidate Register Here”

  • Read all the instructions given on the screen carefully and then click on the ‘Register’ button

  • Candidates must enter the details such as Roll Number, NCHMCT JEE Application No., Name and Date of Birth, as given in NCHMCT Results to register.

  • Applicants are permitted to proceed with the NCHMCT JEE 2021 Registration Process, only if the data entered by him/ her matches with the data of NCHMCT JEE 2021

  • NCHMCT JEE Candidates are required to choose password and security question and the answer to that particular question

  • The password created for the NCHMCT JEE registration by the candidate must be of minimum 8 characters and a maximum of 13 characters

  • Passwords are case sensitive which means ‘A’ and ‘a’ are treated as different characters

  • For subsequent logins, candidates can log in directly with their respective NCHMCT JEE 2021 Roll Number as their Login ID and the password

  • Candidates are advised not to share their password with anyone else. Neither NCHMCT nor NIC is responsible for violation or misuse of the password of a candidate

  • It is mandatory for every applicant to provide required additional information as indicated in the NCHMCT JEE 2021 Registration Form at the time of registration as if in case, a candidate forgets his or her password, the security question and answer provided by the candidate at the time of NCHMCT JEE 2021 Online Registration are to be used to issue a new password

  • If required, an applicant can change his/ her passwords after login

NCHMCT JEE Candidates must verify their personal data that appears on the screen after login. A candidate is allowed only once to correct the data in respect of category, PWD, KM and Gender in the following ways:

  • Category from (SC/ ST/ OBC-NCL) to General allowed but vice versa is not allowed

  • PWD can be changed from Yes to No, but vice versa is not allowed

  • KM can be changed from Yes to No, but vice versa is not allowed

  • Change of gender is permitted

  • Changes in the field of Candidate’s Name, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, and Date of birth are not permitted under any circumstances

  • If the personal data submitted by a candidate is found wrong at the time of verification of certificates, the allotment of a seat or provisional admission of such a candidate is liable to be cancelled

  • Once a candidate verify and submit all the changes in personal data, no further permission is given to make changes under any circumstances

NCHMCT JEE Online Choice Filling for 1st Round

  • During Online Choice filling for the 1st round of NCHMCT JEE 2021 Counselling, registered candidates are required to select the choices of institutes in order of their preference. Choice of institutes is displayed on the computer screen according to the NCHMCT JEE 2021 Eligibility of a candidate.

  • Candidates can fill their choices in the order of preference from the list of available institutes. Candidates can even re-order or change their filled choices, delete the earlier choices and add a new choice any number of times until they lock their final choices

NCHMCT JEE Locking of Choices

  • NCHMCT JEE Candidates have to lock their choices before 5 pm of the last date only after they have finalized them.

  • The NCHMCT JEE 2021 locking of choices include steps like entering the password and confirming the locking.

  • The candidate is advised to take the print out of the page of choices filled by them as they need to show the signed copy at the time of reporting to the NCHMCT JEE 2021 Reporting Center.

  • In case a candidate fails to lock his/her choices by 5 pm of the last date than the last saved choices by the candidate gets automatically locked.

NCHMCT JEE 2021 Exam: How to withdraw seat and seek refund?

A candidate can withdraw admission and seek a refund even after being selected and paying the fee. This is only applied till the end of the first and the second round of counselling. Please note that the counselling fee is not refunded under any circumstances.

  • A hundred per cent refund of fee is done only when the refund application is submitted as per the schedule.
  • A fifty per cent refund of fee is done when the candidate has taken the admission, missed the counselling schedule deadline but have not actually attended classes (conditional).


Based on the performance in the NCHMCT JEE exam, candidates get the admission into various courses offered by 21 Central Institutes, 25 State Government Institutes, 24 Private Institute of Hotel Managemnet, and One Public Sector Undertaking. The bifurcation of seats is done on various considerations such as Category, Marks secured in the NCHMCT JEE entrance exam, and other contributing factors. 

In 2020, 15-20 seats at every IHMS has been increased and a total of 6 seats/vacancy has been added to the Public Sector Undertaking (PSU). The decision is a welcome step by NCHMCT JEE board, and government in expanding the scope of quality education of Hotel Management in country. Moreover, there is a surge of seats in the privately-owned colleges of hotel management. This scenario will compensate for the growth in the number of CHMCT JEE aspirants.
