The admission process in Shri Ram College of Commerce usually begins in the month of June every year when the University of Delhi opens admissions for different courses in the University of Delhi and its constituent/affiliated colleges. The University of Delhi releases a detailed Admission Schedule/Notification usually by the end of May every year. Immediately after release of Admission Schedule/Notification by the University of Delhi the SRCC also releases its admission programme as per schedule notified by the University. The college admission programme schedule can also be accessed from the College Notice Board or College Website.

For the academic year 2015-16, there will be pre-admission forms (off-line and on-line) only at the University level for all categories (General/OBC/SC/ST/PwD). The college will determine the cut-off marks for admission on the basis of marks obtained in the class XII results of the School Boards.

ADMISSION FOR GENERAL/OBC/SC/ST/PwD

On scheduled date the college releases its first cut-off percentage for admission to undergraduate courses (for General, OBC, SC, ST and PwD category). Candidates who meet the cut-off percentage must approach the admission committee for confirming his/her admission as per scheduled dates and timings. In case seats remain unfilled the college will release subsequent cut-off percentage for admission as per pre-notified scheduled dates. Eligible candidates should fill-in and submit the application form with required documents to the admission committee.

The admission procedure for candidates belonging to OBC (Non Creamy Layer)/SC/ST/PwD category is same as meant for admission of candidates under Merit Basis. Candidates are, therefore, advised to obtain the OBC Certificate before hand and ensure that:

  1. Certificate is in the name of the candidate

  3. The certificate mentions non-creamy layer status of the candidate in the current year. If the certificate is not of the current year, then the candidate should provide income proof of the current year (1st April 2014 onwards) to show non-creamy layer status of the candidate.

The eligibility criteria for SC/ST/OBC/PwD categories will be according to the guidelines of the University of Delhi.

  • Students applying under these categories must possess valid SC/ST/OBC/PwD category certificates.
  • These should be issued in their own namesand be according to the criteria set down by the University of Delhi.
  • Admission for all these categories is provisional and subject to verification of the SC/ST/OBC/Medical Certificate by the competent authority. The certificates submitted will be verified from the concerned issuing authority.
  • Three percent (3%) seats in all undergraduate courses are reserved for candidates with physical disabilities (not less than 40% of disability). The 3% reservation will be allocated as follows: 1% for persons with low vision or blindness; 1% for hearing impaired; 1% for those with locomotor disabilities and cerebral palsy. However, if sufficient candidates are not available in a sub-category then candidates from other sub-categories should be considered in their place.
  • Certificate of physical disability issued by chief medical officer/civil surgeon of district or any government hospital authorised to give such certificate unde the provisions of PWD Act 1995 will be considered for admission. In case of any query you may refer tohttp://www.ccdisabilities.nic.in

Q.

A.

Hi Divya.

B.Com (H)

 B.Com (P)

B.Com (H) is an undergraduate degree designed to inculcate business acumen in students. You can also pursue courses like Chartered Accountancy along with your B.Com (honours.)

The course is similar to B.Com (H). The difference lies in the fact that you can specialize in a certain subjects in B.Com (H), but the B.Com (P) course gives you an overview of all those subjects taught in the honours course.

You are taught in depth, about the subjects

You are given an overview of the subjects.

You can specialize in subjects like Accounting or Economics

You cannot specialize in these subjects.

The cut-off for various universities/ colleges is relatively higher.

The cut-off for various universities is relatively lower.

The industry demand for this course is relatively more.
