Clubs
The various forums and clubs include Biotech Forum, Civil Engineering Association, Computer Science and Engineering & Information Technology Association (CSITA), Electrical, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering Association (EEEIEA), Electronics and Communication Engineering Association (ECEA), Mechanical Engineering Association (MEA), Production Engineering Association (PEA), Student Branch of IEEE, ISTE chapter, Green club, Science club, Fine arts club, Orchestra, Rotaract Club, Literary and Debating Society, Tamil Mandram, Student Journalist Council. The first edition of Aperture, the student e-Newsletter of GCT was launched on 21 February 2014.
Hostels
There are nine hostel blocks of which two are reserved for women and can accommodate a total of 1500 students. The hostels are named after rivers namely Palar, Ponnai, Kaveri, Bhavani, Vaigai, Thamirabharani, Vellaru, Amaravathi and Kothai.
