Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering & Technology was established in 1998. It is located in Pollachi, Coimbatore. The college was established to commemorate the 75th birth anniversary of Arutchelvar Dr. N. Mahalingam. The college has been approved by AICTE. It has been accredited by NAAC with 'A++' grade and NBA with Tier 1. The college aims to develop a globally competitive workforce and entrepreneurs

The MCET offers quality education in the discipline of engineering. The college offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Doctoral programs. Most of the faculties in the college are highly experienced and well qualified.

Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering & Technology offers various undergraduate, postgraduate and Doctoral courses in the discipline of Engineering. Major courses offered at MCET are B.Tech, B.E, M.E, Ph.D., MCA.

Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering & Technology Facilities:

The Central Library of MCET has a good collection of books, journals, CDs and DVDs covering various branches and other related fields. It has 60143 volumes of Books, 119 National Journals, 99 International Journals, etc. The Management provides facilities like outdoor games and International level multi-purpose indoor stadium for playing indoor games. Gym facility is also offered. There are various outdoor sports facilities provided by the college including Hockey Field, 3 Badminton Courts, 2 Volleyball Courts, 2 Kabaddi Courts, etc. The indoor sports facilities include 2 table Tennis Boards, 4 Shuttle Badminton Courts, 30 sets of Chess. Bank Facilities with ATM, Post office, Transport Facilities, Seminal Halls and many more are available. Other facilities to students include Well-Equipped Laboratories in all departments, Hostel, Value Added Education, etc. Few Extension Activities carried out are Yoga, NCC, NSS, Green initiatives. 

MCET Scholarship:

There are many scholarships awarded to the students by the college. The college provides its own scholarship 'Arutchelvar Vidya Sakthi Scholarship' for the outstanding academic excellent students. The 'Arutchelvar Vidya Sakthi Scholarship' award is worth Rs. 70 Lakhs and is awarded to 400 talented students. The college selects 100 meritorious students every year in their first year of engineering with Rs. 10,000 for the student. MCET college also offers scholarships for 2nd, 3rd and Final year students with Rs. 15,000, Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 25,000 respectively.

MCET Placements:

The Training and Placement Cell organizes and manages the placement activities. It offers training in soft skills, aptitude, personality development and provides placements for the student. The cell provides career guidance and competitive exam preparations for the students by mentors and expert faculties. The college has established the Centre for Innovation Business Incubation and Entrepreneurship in the year 2015 for the students to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship. The MCET placement ensures that the students are stepped into the corporate world. Many top recruiters visit the college every year for placements and offer good salary package for the students. According to placement statistics of the year 2017-2018, 478 students were placed and the highest salary offered was 5.5 Lakh per annum. The application form can be filled through the website of Anna University. Candidates seeking admission to undergraduate engineering degree course have to apply for TNEA. Candidates seeking admission for other courses need to download the application form for TANCET from the official website, register and fill the application form and pay the application fee.

Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering & Technology Hostel Details:

The MCET college has a separate hostel facility for both men and women students. The hostel is well furnished with rooms, tube light, fan, cupboard, etc with the single, double and multi-member sharing facility. The hostel has a mess which serves vegetarian food with modern kitchen and dining facilities. The MCET Facilities believes in the holistic development of the students. The hostel administration and discipline is overlooked by Warden and Deputy-Warden. The hostel has accommodation for 1410 men and 714 women students.
