The candidate must have a degree of BA (Hons) in Sociology with 50% (OR) B.Com (Hons.) examination or B.A. in Business Administration/Public Administration with papers having a social science content such as Economics , Sociology, Geography with 55% marks in the aggregate and 55% marks in the aggregate of papers having a social science content


B.A. (Hons.) examination in a Social Science/Humanities subject such as Social Work, Journalism, Anthropology Economics, History, Psychology, Political Science, Geography, Philosophy, Education, Linguistics or other exams in a social science subject considered as the equivalent of B.Sc. (Hons.) examination in Anthropology of the University of Delhi or any other recognized University with 55%


BA/B. Com with one of the following subjects comprising at least two papers of B.A(Pass) standard: sociology, Social or Cultural Anthropology, Economics, Political Science, Psychology, History, Geography, Philosophy, Education, social work, Journalism and Linguistics with 55% marks 


B.El.Ed. B.Sc. (Hons.) including B.Sc. (Home Science) or M.B.B.S. or B.Tech./ B.Sc. (Engineering)/B.E./B.Sc. (General), or a three years Law degree with 60% marks (OR) BA (Hons) in English with 55% marks (OR) BA (Hons) in any language other than English with 58% marks

Eligibility Criteria and Admission Process

The eligibility for merit-based admission is that you must be graduated in economics (BA Economics honors) from any of the DU colleges. For entrance eligibility is person must be graduated from any stream and from any (standard) University. There is an entrance exam of DSE of its own named DU entrance exam for Post graduation. The typical cutoff of the entrance is around 125/200 for general category and 105 for OBC and 95+ for SC/ST.
