Coming to the point of hostels, there are two hostels for boys and girls and Ashutosh college is the only college owning its own hostels in the south Calcutta. There is a whole list of facilities that Ashutosh college offers to its students. You can find it on their official website. Some of the facilities are a gymnasium, playground, canteen, anti-ragging cell, Adventure club, cultural wing and many more. So in the department of infrastructure, Ashutosh college has the lead.
It has no doubt that the teachers provide their best efforts to make a suitable routine for their students so that there occurs no kind of class overlaps and also there happens to be enough no. of classes to have you at the right end of the syllabus. One thing he mentioned, if requested by the majority of a class, the routine may be changed as per student requirements. Wondering about how they teach? Well, there is a student-friendly environment between teachers and students. They interact with you, teach you and also learn from you. A teacher is always learning and may learn from their students too. So never hesitate to ask a teacher what is 2+2 equal to because they never get tired clearing your doubts. Assignments, projects. This kind of thing isn't so hectic in Ashutosh college because these are meant to be the fun thing and you get full support from your teachers in these things. So never get worried about how you are gonna complete your assignments by the deadline.
The fees are moderate according to the stream you select. As the college provides you all the requirements you need to advance in your study so the fees can be higher in some cases where lab works are involved. So yes there is a chance that you enlarge your eyes after knowing the fees.

I am a student of second year B. Sc (H) in the comp. Sc. In Asutosh college. The atmosphere of my college is student-friendly. I haven't been faced any kind of ragging by senior students instead I had them whenever I needed them. The faculties are so helpful. They interact with their students so easily so that the bonding between students and teachers becomes friendly. Coming to the entrance exam. I haven't given any entrance to get into my college. All I had was a result of my higher secondary examination and on the basis of that result, I was enlisted in the first merit list published by the college. The college publishes more than one merit list after a certain no. of days. I was enlisted in the first merit list. The cutoffs are really high because Ashutosh college is ranked one college under Calcutta University. Therefore there's tough competition for every stream. You have to score at least 80% to get your name on that merit list at first attempt. There is plenty of space on the college premises and a lot of buildings where classes are attempted. The laboratories are air-conditioned so that you don't have to be so wet doing some kind of research works. The libraries are pretty big that it can provide any kind of book you need. There are three libraries in total, one in the main building and one in another building known as ACTC building. So yes, I can assure you that you won't regret making the decision to take your three-year bachelor course at Asutosh College.
Student societies are the political societies which are present heavily in the socio-norm culture of the college. The main festivals are the local Bengali festivals, Life in college is generally cool it is a homely experience a city of joy makes it cozier.
There are more than 5 hostels and PG's are all around the college. The college itself is in the most happening place in the city. The food and everything are 24x7 available. The other amenities like W-Fi, labs, dining rooms are also great. They are famous and legendary for their hangouts.
Class timings are usually from 9 in the morning to 3 or 4 in the evening for my course. The college also has 3 shifts for the whole day which starts at 5 and ends at 9. Projects are given once a year which has enough time to complete. Assignments change over time. The method and quality of teaching are old but they are modernizing with time. The overall experience is awesome.
The fees in my time were around Rs. 40,000 a year now it must have increased. No specific loans of the bank are needed but if necessary banks easily provide seeing the college background. Scholarships are available from time to time but no such fixed scholarships are there for my course.
Internships are there, once applied for usual corporates like ABP, Hindustan Times and all the big media giants. For me, I did my internship at Ogilvy & Mather.
It has been an amazing experience to be a part of a historic institute. The Old Walls now have new systems and they are upgrading as time flies. You have an array of courses. Mass. Comm & Journalism, in particular, is interesting as they have one of the best faculty presents. We have been given each necessary tools required not only to complete the course but also which would, later on, help us to get through with professional life.
Overall experience is very good. Teachers and the daily routine are very nice.

Students union is there in college for any kind of help to the students. There are many more festivals as posto theke pasta food festival, college has it's own cricket team, one can also participate in various fashion show organised by the students including many cultural shows.
There are two hostels one for girls and one for boys situated in its bhasa campus. Hostel fees is not so high. There's huge numbers of PGs available nearby. That cost approx INR 6000 per month. There are almost 6 buildings in the college campus with full wi-fi facility. There are 3 libraries a student can explore.
The classes are usually from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. One should have 75% minimum attendance to appear for the annual university exam. Before final exam students must clear the election test by the respective department. The professors are extremely qualified and they are doing an excellent work by teaching, they are very friendly in nature with the students.
The course fee is approximately INR 5000 per year which mean almost INR 15000 for the whole three years programme. Loans are easily available from any bank. Concession from principal is available whenever student are unable to pay fees.
There's no direct placement through this course. After this, you can apply for MA with any recognized university.
Asutosh College offers three-year BA course as Honors/ Major/ General/ in various disciplines. Candidates applying should have passed HSC with minimum 50% marks for an Honors course with 45% marks in the subjects in which the application is sought. Similarly, for General course candidate should have passed HSC with 40% marks. Selection to each UG course is on the basis of merit list there is no entrance examonation. Merit list is drawn considering candidate’s marks in top four subjects in the qualifying exam i.e. HSC.

Admission - Admission is based on the marks you gathered in the Higher Secondary or equivalent exam. A merit list is provided of eligible candidates and admission is going on until the seating capacity is full. Entrance exam - No entrance exam is conducted Cut off - Cut offs differs year to year but on average you should have a minimum of 65-70% marks in aggregate as well as in Biology.
There are Only lobbies and College Union. ASL, APL, Annual Sport, College Social, Saraswati Puja, Holi Event, Krira, Lalon to Lenon etc. are the main. It is a joyful and courage gaining life for the students in college.
Many available hostels are there for girls and boys. Hostel fees are near about INR 1200-1500 per month. PGs are same. First class food is available in college canteen and it costs cheap too. Well furnished labs and libraries and neat and clean environment make our college Grade A.
The daily routine is perfectly processed. The college maintains their high-class quality of teaching methodically. My overall experience in college is awesome.

You have to get a minimum percentage of 55 in higher secondary to get admit in Asutosh College. You need to fill up online admission forms next. No entrance examination will be needed. To make yourself pass in the course of B.A. Hons you need a mark of 70 out of 200 in total in Hons Paper . You should have been pass in all the compulsory and pass subjects too
There are some of the clubs and societies in this college. Life is good in this college.
