Every year, the IIM placements are conducted between December and February. MBA graduates typically receive offers ranging from INR 10 to 28 LPA. In India, top IIMs offer some of the best salary packages for MBA candidates. In the top IIMs - A, B, and C, the highest salary is between INR 70 lakh and INR 1 crore in CTC. The international salaries are between INR 60 lakh and INR 1 crore.

IIM Placements: Highest & Average Packages

Upon graduation from a PGP/MBA program, the graduates are offered managerial roles in different sectors and domains. The average package of the recruiters was between 20 to 25 LPA. There were 481 offers extended of which 138 offers were accepted by the students of IIM Bangalore.

IIM Raipur Placements had the highest package of Rs. 42.15 LPA for the academic year 2020-22 with 113 recruiters in total and 45 new recruiters. There were 275 offers extended to students this year of which 252 were accepted. The offers from companies were spread out between various sectors like Manufacturing, IT, BFSI, FMCG, Strategy and Consulting, and E-Commerce.

IIM Ranchi had total recruiters of 132 companies of which 97 were new recruiters. There were 201 students placed with the highest package of Rs. 26.5 LPA. 14. IIM Rohtak Placements

IIM Rohtak placements had top recruiters such as BMW, Amazon, DE Shaw & Co., Gameberry Labs, Natwest Group, KPMG, and Mi for the academic year 2020-22. The highest package offered to the students was Rs. 32 LPA. There was a 16.3% increase in the number of students getting placed compared to the previous academic year 2019-21.

IIM Amritsar had the highest package of Rs. 18.16 LPA for the academic year 2019-21 and the top recruiters were Accenture, Cipla, ICICI Lombard, Anand Rathi, Polycab, Microsoft, Tech Mahindra, Infosys, and Grant Thorton. The total number of recruiters this season was 146 companies.

IIM Bodh Gaya had 86 recruiters for the academic year 2019-21 in which 109 students got placed. IIM Placements Process

The IIM placements are conducted in various sections. Such cycles are further discussed below:

Summer Placements

In April-May, businesses recruit students for summer internships through summer placements. Students can also receive Pre-placement offers (PPOs) through this platform. Summer placements typically take place in March over 4-5 days. Students and recruiters must follow a detailed set of rules to participate in this process.

Lateral Placements

The IIMs offer lateral placements a couple of months before the final placements for students with work experience of at least 18 months in the MBA/PGP program.

Final Placements

The final placement process, held between late February and mid-March, is nearly the same across all IIMs, although there are a few minor variations here and there. IIM Ahmedabad, for instance, follows a cohort-based system rather than a day-based system. Recruiters can gauge students progress over a long time with cohort-based systems.
