The Assam NEET Merit List 2025 has been released on Aug 18, 2025, by the Directorate of Medical Education, Assam, based on candidates' performance in the NEET 2025 results.

The provisionally selected candidates must report to their allotted institutes between Aug 22 and 23, 2025, to complete the admission process. Meanwhile, PWD category candidates are required to visit Gauhati Medical College and Hospital on Aug 20, 2025, for verification of their disability status with relevant original certificates.

The merit list includes the candidate's name, NEET score, percentile, NEET rank, and state merit rank of those who qualified in the medical entrance exam. The merit list for Assam NEET counselling 2025 includes up to 19,809 candidates.

Assam Merit List 2025 is prepared based on two factors, the applicant should be a resident of Assam and the applicant should secure a minimum NEET qualifying percentile. The qualified candidates will be called for the Assam NEET Counselling 2025 for admission to MBBS/BDS under 85% of state quota seats, and the rest 15% is reserved for applicants who come under the AIQ seat category.

Assam NEET Merit List 2025 Tie-Breaking Criteria

In order to resolve the situation where two or more applicants obtain the same score in NEET 2025, the concerned authorities follow an inter-subject merit mechanism given below:

• Candidates having higher scores in NEET in the Biology section will be provided with a better rank in the Assam Merit list
• If the tie situation still remains the same then, the candidates having higher scores in Chemistry will be considered for the Assam Merit list.
• If the tie still continues, then the candidate with fewer attempted incorrect answers in the test will be considered
• Lastly, if the tie persists, then the candidate who registered first shall get preference in the merit list.
