ACADEMICS & FACULTY:
  • The regular class timings are 8:40am till 1:15 pm wherein each lecture takes an hour. The college that I am pursuing my B.A(honours) degree from, St.Stephen's College, is a semi autonomous college that is affiliated to the University of Delhi and is one of the most prestigious colleges of India. The degree programme follows a semester system. I am in the final semester, presently. Every semester consists of projects and assignments. The theory paper constitutes of 75 marks and the internals constitute of 25 marks, wherein the internals comprises of projects/test of 10 marks and assignments of 15 marks, depending upon however way the Professors wish to segregate the division of marks.
  • The quality of teaching is extremely serious and intellectual. They just mean academic business. The teaching methods are very fine. The methods basically comprise of professors explaining the various history topics and students making notes of the dictation. The teachers are very approachable and questions are welcomed, as many as one wishes to ask.
  • The overall experience in college is sort of academically monotonous. It's really enriching in all ways since the aura is so competitive in a healthy manner and people are very humble, around.

ACADEMICS & FACULTY: Classes start at 8 40 in the morning and end around 3pm .First year students have there assembly at 9 05 am which is often conducted by alumni batch and also weekly tutorials for each subjects for better understanding of subjects. Most of the faculty comprises of senior and well-experienced professors who are allotted the crucial subjects. Although the teachers are not out-of-the-world or anything to match the hype that St. Stephen’s has created, the students are satisfied and do not wish for more. “They are friendly and co-operative. They encourage innovative ideas” says a student. Regarding attendance students with above 85% attendance are awarded full five marks allocated to attendance and they start losing marks proportional to the lectures they miss. Once it falls below the university norm of 66% warnings are given and students are given a chance to cover up for attendance.
FOREIGN EXCHANGE & INTERNATIONAL EXPOSURE: student exchange programmes and scholarship opportunities available for students college has tie-ups with some of the leading international universities like Brown University, USA,but less number of students actually get benefited from these programs going on campus.English is medium of teaching but on campus due to diversity of students from different state its varies
