  • It has been a wonderful experience in this red brick beautiful building called MIRANDA. The teachers are so supporting and also dedicated towards their duties and responsibilities. Mainly I love the lab classes of this college , the labs are taken so seriously . Their is a different personality developed in me since I moved to this college. The college always encourages the girls and supports feminism.

ACADEMICS & FACULTY:

The college, recognised under the University of Delhi, strictly follows the curriculum offered under the University guidelines. Nonetheless, the college tries it\'s best to suit the needs of students to adjust the lectures on different slots. Also, the remarkable faculty tries it\'s best to imbibe the course with some good lessons for everyday well being. The best part of being in the college is its very accommodating surroundings, ranging from a chaotic society practice to serenity. The infrastructure adds to the overall experience and is one of the best in Delhi University. Academically, students find it hard to score good in the different projects and they have to word extraordinarily hard to stand out. All in all, once you enter into the college, you know you have made a good decision, as it offers a combination of factors which help to deal with adulthood with flying colours

ACADEMICS & FACULTY:
  • Miranda House has a great environment. The classes held are not just about a particular subject but also teach us how to survive in the world and face challenges of life. Yes, a lot of assignments are given but its all related to what we observe and see around us.
  • The method of teaching is a co-operative teaching method where we discuss doubts with concerned teachers in small groups. The faculty is available to us and we can easily share our problems with them because of their friendly nature.

ACADEMICS & FACULTY:
  • This course is one of the best course in the University of Delhi. My college classes begin at 8:30 A.M. and last till 4:30P.M. , with 4-5 lectures per day
  • Miranda House has a very experienced teaching faculty. Though the classes are the same humdrum and merger of books and written notes, teachers willingly give extra time in tutorials and arrange doubt sessions. Besides the academics, I was a part of the Entrepreneurship cell of Miranda house, which was a catalystic experience for me
  • Overall, Miranda house has broadened my vision, making me a more consequencial person to see a different world than the one I grew in.

About Miranda House, Delhi University

Miranda House, residential college for women, is one of the premier Women's Institutions of Delhi University. It was founded in 1948 by the then Vice-Chancellor Sir Maurice Gwyer; its foundation stone was laid by Lady Edwina Mountbatten on March 7 in the same year. Located on the University campus, Miranda House is built in warm red brick with cool and spacious verandahs. Its original design was by the renowned architect Walter George, the college shares an architectural affinity with other colonial educational institutions of the country. In the past five decades, as the college has grown, several other buildings have been added to its original design. It is now declared a heritage building and work is on to maintain its pristine glory.

Miranda offers liberal education in humanities and science to more than 2500 students. The faculty is renowned for their meritorious profile, versatile talent and dedication to the cause of education. The college has produced women who have excelled in various professions and have contributed in numerous ways to society at large.

The college has always maintained high academic standards. What is more important is the space it has provided to the students to freely express and develop views that help them respond to changes in society. Its proximity to other campus colleges enables students to participate in the academic and cultural events that take place around it.

The college also has a hostel, which happens to be amongst the oldest residential buildings of the University. The hostel has recently been renovated under the Heritage Building Project. The hostel section is laid out in a pleasing quadrangle, with gardens paced out by bottle palms. The design allows a spacious privacy within which residents can be as they like. The dining hall is one of the assets of the college with monastic tables and benches set along a long hall. The stretch of ground curving around the hostel towards the Cafeteria has been cleared away for a beautiful lawn and a rockery extending the social attractions of the Cafeteria, particularly on sunny winter days. It has also brought out the potential of the balcony outside the student's common room as an elevated stage for cultural events.
