Miranda House, affiliated with the University of Delhi, was established in 1948. It is one of the prime institutions in the city of New Delhi. The institution offers various degrees and certificate courses and has been a reputed institution in New Delhi due to the quality of education it provides to the students.

Although all the facilities of Miranda House, in terms of placements, faculty, campus life, and infrastructure, are top-notch, let’s explore all the factors individually to get a detailed idea about the institution.

Miranda House, which is under the University of Delhi, offers a diverse range of courses. The institution offers almost 57 undergraduate programs and 14 postgraduate programs, where students can choose between full-time or part-time study programs. Miranda House has different courses available in the areas of Arts, Education, Science, Humanities, IT and Software Development, and Social Sciences.

The institution offers quality education to the candidates curated with an industry-based curriculum. Through the qualified professors of Miranda House, the institution has achieved the fame of being one of the best colleges in New Delhi.

Amiable and Qualified Faculty Members

Miranda House has an excellent reputation in terms of faculty members. The institution is renowned for having the best professors for Economics Honours under the University of Delhi. The professors exhibit a balanced blend of sweetness and strictness, coupled with exceptional teaching skills.

The teachers conduct regular doubt classes for the students and motivate them by actively encouraging them to ask questions and inspire them through all the classes for future goals and aspirations. The teachers of the institution take extra care to ensure that the syllabus is completed on schedule and extra classes are organised for the students.

The exams at Miranda House are challenging and require significant effort to get good marks. Although exams in Miranda House are difficult for most of the students, the pass percentage is comparatively high due to the hard work each student puts in.

The course curriculum of the institution is well-structured and relevant and aligns well with the industry requirements. The curriculum prepares students for their careers and ensures that the students have the best knowledge and quality in their field.

Diverse Infrastructure

Miranda House has provided various types of facilities all around the campus, like an auditorium, hostels, gym, medical facilities, labs, library, sports complex, and Wi-Fi. The institution has a lush green environment, which makes the campus look mesmerising. The washrooms on the campus are excellent and well-maintained. The security facility around the Miranda House campus is excellent, with all the modern facilities.

The classrooms and labs of Miranda House are generally well-maintained and have the facilities of air-conditioning laboratories. However, some candidates feel that some of the classrooms are very humid and cramped during the summer. Overall, the college offers good infrastructure in classrooms, laboratories, and research labs, and the classrooms are quite spacious and airy in general. 

The library of the Miranda House has a good collection of classic works and textbooks, which is very useful for the students’ reference purposes. The library is huge and has 2-3 floors with different types of books for each subject. The Wi-Fi service inside the library is excellent.

As the library of the institution has all syllabus-related books, many students seldom need to buy their course-related books and borrow them from the college library itself. Students are delighted with the library of Miranda House as they can find all the books for their course and recreational magazines, etc. 

In Miranda House, there are three canteens where the food quality is decent. The institution has WiFi provided everywhere except the canteen areas. The canteen infrastructure of Miranda House is fantastic, and the food is affordable and tasty. For some students, the cost of food provided in the canteen is expensive.

In Miranda House, there is a huge playground on the campus. The administration of the institution has ensured the creation of various sports facilities, such as basketball and badminton courts. The institution has also provided a gym facility on the campus.

Satisfactory Hostel

Miranda House has provided students with housing facilities that are very satisfactory for the students in general. The mess food provided at the hostels is delicious. The hostel rooms are neat. Unfortunately, there are no facilities for air conditioning, and the students are not allowed to have personal coolers are not permitted. The hostel fees in Miranda House are costly, with the average annual expenses coming down to INR 2.5-3.2 lakhs.

Joyful Campus Life

The candidates in Miranda House can enjoy various fests, parties, and workshops organised by the administration to ensure the students get a vibrant atmosphere along with their studies. The institution does not have a particular dress code for regular days and allows students to choose casual wear. However, Miranda House has a strict dress code for the candidates during the orientation, inductions, and guest lectures, where the students are expected to dress in formal attire.

Attendance at Miranda House is crucial. Those students who have attendance below 66% do not get the admit cards for the end-semester exams. The candidates who fall in the 40%-66% of their attendance need to pay a penalty fee.

Good Placements

Although the placement scenario for different departments in the Miranda House varies, the average placement rates of the students in general are 50% and 80%. The average salary for the honours students in Miranda House comes down to INR 10 LPA. The placement cell of the institution provides internships for the students. Internship opportunities are ample, and almost  70% of students secure placements after doing an internship with the companies.

The university's placement cell is very proactive and arranges different recruiters to visit the campus for graduate students' placements.
