The minimum eligibility for the undergraduate courses is a pass in II PUC/ Intermediate/ 10+2 or any other equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/ Bio-Technology/ Computer Science/ Biology/ Electronics as optional subjects with English as one of the languages of study with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks in the optional subjects (40% of marks for SC.ST.CAT-1 and OBC category).

Admission is open to all candidates who have passed final semester examinations (In relevant fields) with 50% of the marks in the aggregate. The selection is based on the performance in the qualifying examination, written test and personal interview. Preference will be given to candidates qualified in GATE.

Admissions are as per the regulations of VTU. For all PG degrees, Diploma courses and research programmes candidates have to apply to the Principal.

Applicants seeking admission to UG/ PG programs must register themselves through offline or online on the admission portal. The procedure for the same is mentioned below:

• The students must print out the form. There is no online application form at BIET.  
• Students are required to fill in the form on paper.
• They must complete all relevant sections of the application form- personal details, percentage of marks in the qualifying examination, entrance test details such as CET, COMEDK, AIEEE, etc, and lastly, their preferred branch.
• Students are required to post their application form along with a DD for the admission fee- Rs. 500.

3. Passport size photographs
4. Aadhar Card copy
5. Caste certificate/ Income certificate (If applicable)
6. The selection of the student is decided based on the entrance exam scores such as CET, COMEDK, AIEEE, (GATE for PG application), as well as their merit
7. Shortlisted candidates will have to attend the personal interview
8. Applicants who perform well in the personal interview will be selected
