Placements and Internships

4

I took admission in 2016 under VTU University so I had to do mandatory Internship for 2 months. Stipends depend on companies. In 2019, this campus was also declared autonomous. It offers 6 month mandatory Internship for final year students that is preferred by most IT Industries.

It has excellent placement record and yes, good communication with Alumni. Feel free to contact any of the Alumni and they will definitely guide you.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

2.5

Seperate Hostel for boys and girls. The boys' hostel is inside the College Campus but the girls' hostel is about 4-5 km away from Campus. Buses will be provided for girls Hostel. There is one more boys hostel outside the campus. Hostel fee  starts from 90K  with each year incrementing with some fixed rate(as per as college policy).

PG's are good to stay and their cost depends on your choice of accommodation. Food is quite okay and thier is option to have meals from different canteen in campus. Basic meals start with RS 50/-

Classrooms, Labs,Libraries are good and clean. Unfortunately Wi-fi is not provided and College is strict about using phones (You are not supposed to use your phone in college Hours). Your phone will be confisticated for a max of 1 year.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

COMED-K is the examination for admission in different colleges in Karnataka. Once you satisfy the eligibility criteria i.e 0-5000(prefered) rank you can get good colleges in Karnataka. After results, very soon you will be notified about colleges which you can get based on your rank. Attend counselling and get to know more about your college choices.

Academics and Faculty

3.5

College starts from 8:00 am and get over at 3:15 p.m. Class duration is a max of 1 hr for each subject you study each semester. Assignments/Projects depend on your faculty.

Professors are good. Method of teaching involves Projectors (PPT'S), Smart Classes etc. My overall experience is not that amazing as this college doesn't support much extra cirricular activities.

Fees and Scholarships

3.5

Course fees are different for different branches. It also depends on whether you are through COMEDK, CET, Management.

Scholarship depends from student to student and their performance. Loans depend on your financial status .College has this branch Union Bank of India-PES Branch. You can apply for a loan from this bank present inside college.

Clubs and Associations

2

There are no such Student Society/Clubs. Indeed, you have Students club for different Technical Events. Activity Day (Inter branch) or College Fest (Maaya) is held every year by students.

College life is okay don't keep too high expectations about Cultural Fest. The reason to be here is Placement, which depends the most.

The eligibility criteria for my college, ISE branch was a rank till 4000 in COMED-K, 75% in 12th Board exams and a good score in class 10th.There were 2 rounds for college selection.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : I got into PESIT through KCET, the cutoffs for my year were fairly high(around 1500 for CSE) but with PES becoming a university, the admissions will be based on their own PESSAT and KCET. The entrance exam level of PESSAT is fairly competitive (I've heard) and with the south campus gaining traction over the years it's getting just as tough to get in there through merit. My advice, prep well on COMEDK UGET material, as the level of exams are similar.
