Placements and Internships

5

NSIT has rank 5 on the list of placement scores of Indian colleges. This clearly reveals the excellent on-campus placement opportunities available to students. The key recruiters belong to software and IT industry, inlcuding global giants like Oracle, Amazon, Google, Facebook, Flipkart etc.

Apart from them, a major chunk of electronics companies that visit the campus are TI (Texas Instruments), Qualcomm, Nvidia, ST microelectronics, Samsung (all of these are global tech giants).

Also, the non technical sphere has top notch placements from companies like Barclays, JP Morgan, Deloitte, Goldmann Sachs etc.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

The campus has a very well maintained Central Library which houses more than 20,000 books. The library is a 3-storey building with facilities like air conditioners, wifi etc. Almost all the labs are also air conditioned and carry all technical equipments in good state that are operational. The classrooms are not air conditined but well maintained. The campus has an area of 145 acres with gleaming architecture.

The basic facilities like clinic, ambulance etc. are well maintained by the administration and available 24X7.

Academics and Faculty

3

On an honest remark, the course curriculum is quite outdated for all branches (except for IT), dating back to 90s. And, there's no choice for desired courses, thus making some of the subjects irrelevant to be taught compulsarily. Corresponding to the curriculum, yes, the teaching methodologies are primitive as per the course, but when it comes to teachers, there are some pretty good professors in almost every department who have a profound national reputation. Also, if you are good in some field or carry a passion for something, you can approach the respective professors for guidance or getting under them for projects etc.

Fees and Scholarships

3.5

The campus rests two banks in its premises (SBI and Andhra Bank) and both of them offer lucrative education loans for students. One can visit there and enquire the terms of taking loans. Apart from that, college provides merit scholarships based on the academic percentage of students annualy. Also, scholarships are provided by the administration for students of backward categories, SCs and STs.

Clubs and Associations

4

There are lots and lots of activities that keep happening in the campus. There are around 23 student clubs  and societies in NSIT and most of them remain active throughout the year. There's a society for almost every interest, like astronomical club, dance club, choreography club, newspaper society, media society, solar car club etc. Also, there are adequate sports facilities available on-campus. There's a gym in the campus that is regularly open. Also, there are separate play fields, including 2 basketball courts, a cricket ground, football ground, volleyball and lawntennis ground etc.

Academics & Faculty : Nsit is known for it's student friendly curriculum. It aims at teaching students the required skills without undue pressure. Due to this, students have a lot of free time to explore, learn and try their hands on new technologies and skills. Societies are very active and and have been winning many inter-college events. Timings vary in the time frame of 8:30 Am to 6:30pm. The syllabus has been updated from the batch of 2016. I would say faculty is not very good. But some professors are very experienced and always available to help students with their projects. Many professors have international recognition and regularly publish journals. Students are free to take up projects of their choice. Every semester, on an average there are just 5 theory subjects and rest are practical subjects, hence making exams less hectic. But since all professors are not up to the mark, self study is the tool to excel in exams. Yet another thing that is not in favour of nsit is that classrooms are not smart
