The limited number of hostels with first come first serve method. The hostel fee is high so a better option is to go for a PG as there are many near the campus. PGs are available at INR 5000-7000 per month. Food is good n hygienic n cost friendly. Since BMS is the first private engineering college in India built pre-independence, the infrastructure is not much developed. Yet construction work for new buildings is in progress and will be finished soon. Labs are well equipped. Libraries have a good collection.
If you decide to take up B.Arch be ready to work day and night on your assignments. The exams are according to the VTU system. The quality and method of teaching are good. And the students have to make the best use of it.
For a general merit seat in B.Arch, the Annual fee comes around INR 30,000. Scholarships are provided for reserved categories and also at the end of a year to the student with 1st rank. Though the fee is not too high, the course includes a lot of expenses for materials, site visits, study tours, workshops etc.
There's is a student council n respective clubs for extra-curricular activities. Utsav is the main fest. Yet there are smaller fests happening throughout the year. The college life isn't too much fun here until n unless one takes part in activities.
