Placements and Internships

- I have got a remote internship at TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) for zero stipends and it is work from home.
- I have got the campus placement in TCS during placements 2017.
- TCS has offered this kind of internship for few of their selects during campus placements.
- We will get such offers from various companies during the last semester (in final year) for all the branches. If we try hard we may get stipend too.
- Most of the companies that visit our campus will be IT companies like TCS, WIPRO, CTS, YODLEE and so on. Some of the manufacturing companies like MEDHA SERVO DRIVES, TATA MOTORS, HYUNDAI do visit our college but the opportunity in IT sector is more than Core sector.
- Average salary figure considering all the companies that visit our company will be around Rs 3.3 lakhs per annum and the highest salary figure is around Rs 10 lakhs per annum.
- Approximately 70 percent of the people will get placed during campus placements in our college. A talented person can get more than two offers even.
- Our college has good Alumni network. They always take the suggestions from the Alumni.
- Based on the inputs given by the Alumni and industrial experts our Curriculum will be changed every two years at

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

- There are separate hostels for boys and girls.
- One for boys and one for girls. Boys hostel has a strength of around 500 members and Girls hostel may have around 800 members (even maybe more) including all the students from the first year to final year.
- The hostels are good and hostelers have some extra facilities like Wifi access, Campus Library access and generator facility during power cut even in the night time and so on.
- The hostel fee is Rs 60,000/- only per year at Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of Engineering, [GVPCE] Vishakhapatnam.
- We have to pay all the fees at one time and it is not on monthly basis (it is fixed).
- The important thing is all the hostels and college canteen will provide only vegetarian food. Non-vegetarian food is not available at our college campus.
- The cost of the meal is Rs 25/- only. We have to think about the quality of the canteen food.
- All other facilities like Classrooms, labs, libraries are good. All the students are provided with Wi-fi access during the daytime.
- During evening only hostelers will have that access. The speed of the internet in the college is good enough for surfing and also for some downloads. Bus facility is available for all the day scholars and for various routes in Visakhapatnam.
- Our campus has around 10 buses for students and around 4 buses for the college staff.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- The college will give the admissions through two categories.
- One is category-A in which they consider the rank in AP EAMCET entrance examination and also category (i.e, OC or BC or SC or ST).
- Another is category-B in which they consider the rank in JEE MAIN entrance examination or Management seat.
- No separate entrance examination will be conducted for the admission into our college.
- I have joined this college through AP EAMCET and my rank is 2703 in EAMCET-2013.
- The typical cutoff for the last year(2017 admissions) was 5000 (approx) considering all the branches (ECE, EEE, CSE, MECH, CIV, CHE).
- I have opted EEE and cut off for EEE in last year was around 4000 for this branch at Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of Engineering, [GVPCE] Vishakhapatnam.
Academics and Faculty

- For the first years, class timings are different from the second, third and final year students.
- For the first year students class timing is from 10.20AM to 5.00PM and for the remaining, it is from 8.40AM to 3.20PM.
- We have to do two projects one we call as Industry oriented mini project which we have to do during the summer break after the third year and another one is the Main project which we have to do for 6 months i.e, entire last semester.
- Throughout the BTech course we will have to write 8-semester examinations and for each semester around 3 labs and 6 subjects, we have to attempt.
- Assignments will be given and these will be considered as internal assessments for each semester.
- The quality of teaching is good and they use sometimes LCD projector and Guest lectures for specific topics if possible.
- The overall experience in the college is good at Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of Engineering, [GVPCE] Vishakhapatnam.
Fees and Scholarships

- My course fees (we call it as Tuition fee) was Rs 86,900/- only per year and now it is around Rs 1,00,000/- only per year at Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of Engineering, [GVPCE] Vishakhapatnam.
- It may vary from year to year around 10%. Different kinds of scholarships are available for the students at our college.
- Some of them are MHRD scholarship for the merits in IPE, North-South foundation scholarship and one of the major one is Full fees/ partial fees reimbursement done by EPASS which was government scholarship.
- This reimbursement will be provided only for the students who got their admission through Category-A and their EAMCET rank below 10,000.
- One of the important things is this scholarship is provided not only merit basis but also on the income basis and Category wise (ST, SC, BC, OBC) at Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of Engineering, [GVPCE] Vishakhapatnam.
- If the parent is State/Central Govt. employee this scholarship will not be provided even though your EAMCET rank is below 100. Around 70% of the students will get these Scholarships.
- Loans are needed for middle-class people because we have to pay not only tuition fee but also Hostel fees for students from other areas (if needed). We can avail these bank loans easily if we have some surety.
- I would like to tell about my situation. I have a younger brother who is one year younger to me.
- My father is an employee in BSNL and I do not have any scholarship even though my rank in EAMCET is 2703. I got Bank loan from CANARA Bank, Machilipatnam.
Clubs and Associations

- There are various student societies like Society for Electrical and Electronics Engineers for EEE students and similarly for all the other departments at Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of Engineering, [GVPCE] Vishakhapatnam.
- Our college has clubs like Cultural club, Sports club and several social clubs like Rotaract club of GVP, NSS, We are for help and so on.
- There will be around one technical festival for each department and one common cultural festival for all the college students every year.
- The life in college is something interesting and we can try hard to reach our success.
- The college will provide maximum support for the students technically and also encourage the students in many ways to reach their goals.
