Rajul Jain's Review on Indian Institute of Technology, [IIT] Kharagpur

• International Offers include mostly big companies like Facebook, Google, Goldman Sachs, and also banks, and many more.
• Almost 100% of the batch gets placed and the salary figures vary from Rs 7 lakhs to Rs 1.34 crores per year.
• The office of Alumni Affairs and International Relations maintains all contacts with the alumni. The alumni of IIT Kharagpur is very active and the size is huge and in every part of the world one can think of. It will be surprising not to find an alumni of this college in any part of the world, such is the alumni network.

• There are a total number of 15 Hostels. The hostel Fees are around INR 30,000 per year.
• Nobody affords for PG's as it is a fully residential college where you have to stay in hostels.
• Food in college is the best, once again. The cost per meal is Rs 50.
• Quality of an Infrastructure of Classrooms, Labs, Libraries, dining hall are much above the average level. We have 24hrs High Speed WiFi and LAN connectivity through out the entire 2,200 acre campus area.

Classes go on from 7:30 am in the morning to 5:30 pm in the evening. Labs are fully furnished with the best of equipments available.Tests and assignments are given so as to check the overall improvement of each and every student. Library is open from 8:00 am in the morning to 12:00 am in the night making sure it is accessible to students. The Central Library of Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, is the largest technical library of Asia having books, journals, and even has digital Library. Courses offered in the first and second year are core courses, while electives are allowed in the third, fourth and fifth years. Professors and very friendly and can be approached when needed.

• The tuittion fees is Rs 25000 per semester which is easily replenished by MCM scholarship
• Scholarhsips like MCM(Merit Cum Means) makes it possible for the lower middle classs students to continue their education in one the premier engineering colleges of India.There are lot of other scholarship exams right from the first year like JBNSTS,OPJEMS,Sumita Mkhija Scholarship which are based mainly on the overall performance ofthe students.
• Loans are provided at cheap rates from the nearby banks like State Bank of India, PNB etc.
