Placements and Internships
- Placement scenario has really improved over the years and details of which can be found in our placement report. There are lot of opportunities available to students with good companies including FMCG companies visiting our campus. Also, with competitions of Pepsico, Axis Bank, Yes Bank, Capgemini etc. opened exclusively for IIM Ranchi can be good enough indicators for future placement scenario.There are wide range of profiles offered from various fields Marketing, Finance, Consulting, Operations whose details can be found in our Placement report. Average placement this year was around 15 lakhs with highest package of INR 55 lakhs. I believe there is ample opportunity to shape your career in IIM Ranchi provided you apply knowledge gained at institute.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- I believe hostel facilities are one area which differentiates IIM Ranchi from other new IIMs. We have single room accommodation with attached bathroom facilities. Also Wi-Fi is present in all blocks of campus with 24 hours internet connectivity. Hostel campus has canteen facilities for stationary and other eatables which is open till late night. Also, all the rooms have generator backup so there is no power interruption. Also there are other facilities like a ground for playing cricket and football, a badminton court, a TT room, Gym, a music room ,ATM and other facilities.
Academics and Faculty
- IIM Ranchi since its inception is always trying to create its impact in industry. At IIM Ranchi we get an opportunity to interact with industry leaders of good companies through Colloquium which helps us to get to know about actual industry happenings.
- We have specialised internal faculty for few courses in first year and for others we get external faculty from IIM C, IIM L, MDI and also consultants working in industry as per their specialisation which gives good platform to learn.
Clubs and Associations
- At IIM Ranchi there are lots of clubs and committees which students can be part of and learn as per their interest. IIM Ranchi organised its first management festival AGON last year which gained huge applause from many colleges across India. IIM Ranchi conducts TEDx which is TED talks of famous personalities from various backgrounds and RADIX which is platform for interacting with CEO’s and CFO’s of firms like KPMG,Jabong,Nomura etc.
- Apart from studies, IIM Ranchi conducted its first Sports and Cultural fest RUSH which got participation from reputed colleges across India. Also there is Ranchi Premier League, Badminton league and Futsal on the lines of IPL, IBL and EPL where there is actual bidding with real money and prize money. These events create fun atmosphere inside the campus.

Academics & Faculty : With most of the faculty coming in from IIM Calcutta, the standards are set very high. Industry experts like Professor Sanjay Badhe create not just interest but passion for the course. The Academic Committee works very hard to keep the courses updated and bring in new ones. Last year, Sports and Entertainment marketing was introduced with half the course being taken up by an elite professor from Clayton University.
Academics & Faculty : The quality of professors we have in IIM Ranchi is quite great. There are many visiting faculties coming from colleges like IIM Calcutta, MDI Gurgaon, NITIE Mumbai,etc. Various eminent professors like Prof. Jean Dreze, a Belgium-born Indian economist come to address the students of IIM Ranchi. This type of exposure gives an immense opportunity to the students to interact with stalwarts in various fields and learn something from them. That is one of the perks which we enjoy being a student of an IIM.

Academics & Faculty : Each day at IIM Ranchi is quite hectic. There are everyday classes and weekends are usually occupied with projects and assignments. We have the best of the best faculty and the usual way of teaching is case based.
