Entrance Exams and Admissions
The candidate who wants to apply for the course must sit in the entrance exam, CEE (Combined Entrance Exam) and JLEE ( Joint Lateral Entry Examination) , conducted by ASTU.
As per the Assam CEE eligibility criteria, candidates should have passed class 12 or equivalent exam from Assam board or any other recognised board with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English subjects without any grace marks. Age: Candidates should not be less than 17 years. The maximum permissible age limit is 21 years. Percentage of Marks: General category candidates must have 50% aggregate marks, where SC category candidates need to have 45% aggregate marks and ST category candidates must have 40% marks in PCM.
Educational Qualification: Should have passed class 12 or equivalent exam from Assam board or any other recognised board. Nativity: Candidates must be permanent residents of Assam.
There is another way to enter this course is the lateral entry of the candidate in the 3rd semester of the 4 year course as a 2nd year student through the entrance exam, JLEE. As per Assam JLEE eligibility criteria, Candidates must have passed a recognised Diploma (Minimum 3 years duration) from any Polytechnic Institution affiliated with the State Council of Technical Education (SCTE), Assam. Candidates must have secured a minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) in aggregate in their diploma examination.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : Eligibility of getting admission to the B.tech is through ASSAM CEE examination held every month all over Assam. Total marks for the exam is 300, out of which usually 132 remains the cutoff for General though it varies every year. Around 108 is the cutoff usually for SCs and 65 for STs. negative marking is also there. During admission mark sheets of 10 and +2 are required along with PRC certificate.
