Shasan Physics's Review on Amity University, [AU] Kolkata

Since I'm majoring in Physics, I'm not too aware about the placements, but having gathered some info from other acquaintances, Amity has a wide variety of companies to offer for placements. As far as stipends go, Amity does not provide that, although the scholarship policy can be still availed then

Not too sure about the hostels but then the libraries are pretty useful, there are 2 big fully air-conditioned cafeterias where food is available at relatively cheaper price and WiFi is okay too. The labs are, on the other hand under-equipped which is something to be worked upon. Overall infrastructure and classrooms are really good, and the entire campus is full air-conditioned

Since I'm from the 2020-23 batch, there was no entrance exam but an online interview based on which my admission was cleared. Typically the class 10 and 12 board marks are important, especially the latter, as the university offers a scholarship on the basis of that. Amity University Kolkata does not have a specific cut-off and main admission is through the interview, although it is advisable to keep an overall board result score of over 75% in order to avail a scholarship. 

Overall for college life, one can expect helpful professors, good work environment and overall a very fun, but stressful but enjoyable time.

For Physics the course fees is as follows (minus scholarship): Sem 1&2 = 38,000 each Sem 3&4= 40,000 each Sem 5&6= 42,500 each As for scholarship there are two kinds, one during admission and one during your course During admission it's based on class 12 result: Above 75% (25% scholarship) Above 85% (50% scholarship) Above 84% (100% scholarship) During the course it's based on class ranking after each semester Top 5% (100% scholarship) Top 10% (50% scholarship) Top 15% (25% scholarship). Considering my class 12 board results, I was able to secure a 50% scholarship for my first 2 semesters. Later scholarships offered are again based on the GPA.

Clubs are something that in theory exist, but are not too operational minus a select few. Festivals are celebrated in Amity with passion, and fests are conducted too. Apart from that college life is pretty okay
