Placements and Internships

3

  • The placement in this college is okay.
  • A range of companies visits the college, and the package offered to students mainly ranges between INR 4,00,000-12,00,000.
  • Computer science students get a decent package, but the lower branch students mostly get INR 4,00,000-5,00,000 package.
  • However, it also depends on the student's talents and abilities.
  • Students should take at least one internship in their 3rd year of college.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

3

  • There are two girls' hostels and two boy's hostels inside the campus.
  • One hostel is for the NRI students, and the other is for everyone else.
  • The hostel fee is around INR 1 lakh for a year.
  • The food is average, better than PGs and flats. The hostel is neat and clean, and the servants clean the room every day.
  • There are several PGs outside the college, and the rent is around INR 8K-10k per month.
  • There are two canteens inside the college, and they provide varieties of foods.
  • The classroom, labs and libraries are neat, and they maintain the decorum of the college.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

  • The candidates can enrol by either taking the COMEDK entrance exam or via management quota.
  • In 2019, the rank for the computer science stream was 8-10k. For ISE, it was 10-13k, and so on.

Academics and Faculty

3

  • When I was in the first year of my engineering, the class timing was 9 am to 4 pm, but now, since it's online, we have online classes from 8 am to 4 pm.
  • There are three internals in each semester.
  • The assignments are allotted at the end of each module.
  • The quality of teaching depends upon the faculty provided. Some are good, and some are not.
  • Overall, the campus environment is very promotive if you have a handful of good friends and manage your studies well.

Fees and Scholarships

1.5

  • CMR Institute of Technology, [CMRIT] Bangalore Fee Structure. The course fee is about INR 2.32 Lakh some additional TYL fees for the entire year, as per the 2019 curriculum.
    • Note: The fee structure for each branch is different. However, the fee for CSE and ISE branches is nearly the same for those who have admission through COMEDK. Those who have studied for seven years or more in Karnataka can take admission via KCET, and the fees for them is nearly 1/3rd of that of COMEDK.
  • There are different scholarship options available for Karnataka students and reserved categories.
  • To apply for any scholarship, you must fulfil all the requirements. However, if you find the fees too high, you can apply for loans from a private or government bank.

Clubs and Associations

2.5

  • Students themselves run various technical and non-technical clubs, and anyone can participate in whichever club they like.
