Sikkim University is the central university that was established under an act of the parliament of India, and the university is located in Gangtok. In 2006 Sikkim University was established. University started about 4 different departments in the year 2008. The university also offers traditional courses in humanities, physical, and life science. The university is expected to be built about 56km from Gangtok that is, in the south Sikkim district. Admission to undergraduate and graduate programs at Sikkim University is currently open for 2022. CUET UG scores will be the entrance exam required for UG course admissions. The CUET UG 2022 result has been released by the authorities.

Sikkim University courses include BA, MA, B.Sc, M.Sc, MBA, M.Com,  B.Com, and others. There are 28 M.Phil./Ph.D., 32 postgraduate, and 5 undergraduate programs offered by Sikkim University.
