Fees & Scholarships : Pailan College of Management and Technology, Kolkata Fee Structure. The course fee is about INR 90,000 per annum. West Bengal government-funded scholarships are available. Candidates are selected on merit and economic background. The college does not sponsor any scholarship program of its own. 5-10 students get the scholarship from the government per batch. Loans are needed to people who are from the weaker economic background. Government bank loans are easy to get after providing sufficient documents.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The eligibility criteria were 50% of marks in Science Stream (12th standard) of any recognized board. A valid ranking of the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination is necessary. 50% is the cutoff to join any engineering course.

Academics & Faculty : The daily routine is maintained quite seriously. 75% attendance is compulsory for everyone, and applications are to be submitted for leaves. Failing to do so will land a student to be debarred from the semester examinations in worst cases. Final year projects, internal examinations and lab exams are taken very seriously without any discrepancy. Timely assignments are also provided. The quality and method of teaching is par average. External guidance and help is provided if properly asked. The overall experience in college is moderate. Lack of discipline among students, communication gap and an awful location are the cons of it. The teaching staff, the help from faculties, the infrastructure, and the Labs are its pros.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : There are two hostels, one for the boys and the other for the girls on the college campus. The hostel fees are quite high with respect to the fact the food and the accommodation they provide. The fees is INR 30,000 per semester. PGs and other accommodations are outside the college. The food in the college is terrible, and there is only one single canteen with three or four items on the menu. The quality of classrooms, labs, the library is quite neat and clean. There is no Wi-Fi in the college.

Clubs & Associations : There are no student clubs or associations on campus. The main festival on campus is the college induction, the college farewell, and various Techfest that are arranged by the college and the students. College life, in general, is moderate considering my personal experience. Students fixed to a budget can come to this college but have to develop their skill sets on their own and get a job through the college placements.
