NIET, Coimbatore Admission 2024

The institute offers courses in engineering technology and management. Nehru Institute of Engineering Technology, [NIET] Coimbatore offers degrees such as B.E, MCA and M.E and MBA at the undergraduate and postgraduate level, in addition to research opportunities. The college has state-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories, big screen projectors and wifi facilities. Apart from the regular courses it had since its inception, the college has introduced some new, more advanced courses, some of which are in collaboration with Tata Consultancy Services [TCS].

The college offers the B.E. (Bachelor of Engineering) degree at the undergraduate level. A total of 9 subjects of specialization are available, of which 3 were introduced recently and are very niche subjects in the field of Computer Science Engineering and Artificial Intelligence.

The B.Tech course is for a duration of 4 years, carried out through a semester system. The course thus comprises 8 semesters. The first two are typically dedicated to a basic study of engineering science. Semesters three up to six are concerned with in-depth study of the specialization subject of choice and the final two semesters are usually designated for project work.

The M.E( Master of Engineering) and MCA courses are offered at the postgraduate level. Two specializations are offered under this course. The college also has a faculty of Management Studies which offers the MBA course. M.E is a two year course that comprises 4 semesters. The MBA course too, is for a duration of 2 years, students can opt for a double specialization under this programme.

The college offers candidates the opportunity to pursue research in two subjects-  Mathematics and Aeronautical Engineering. The Ph.D (Doctor of Philosophy) course duration is roughly 3-4 years. Eligibility to the courses requires candidates to have a Master’s degree in the relevant subject.
