Madras School of Social Work, established in 1952, located in Chennai, South India, is an Autonomous Institution, NAAC accredited and affiliated to University of Madras. Madras School of Social Work was founded by Mary Clubwala Jadhav under the auspices of Madras State Branch of the Indian Conference of Social Work. The school is run under the aegis of the Society for Social Education and Research. Madras School of Social Work is a member of the Association of Schools of Social Work in India and the Asia – Pacific Association of Social Work Education. The School is also affiliated to the International Association of Schools of Social Work. The School is rated 3rd Best Social Work College in India and First in South India. MSSW Admission 2021

Admissions are made purely based on merit and the prescribed criteria for each course. The College does not accept donations/ capitation fees for admissions. Admission to this college is done on a merit basis. Admission to MSSW is done through an entrance exam conducted by the college. The college has developed a transparent and efficient admission process for aspiring candidates in 2021. Candidates need to score good marks in the entrance exam in order to take admission in this college. The entrance test will test the applicants in the areas of General Aptitude, Quantitative Aptitude/ Data Interpretation, Reading Comprehension/ Verbal Ability, Social Awareness and General Knowledge. Candidates can apply to all the courses at MSSW online, through the official website of the college. Candidates are advised against paying any money to anyone within or outside the College to secure admission for any course at MSSW. Candidates/ Parents/ Guardians are requested to bring to the notice of the Principal if they come across any information regarding violations of this. Madras School of Social Work offers various courses such as the BSW and B.Sc. courses at the UG level, the MSW, M.Sc., and M.A. courses at the PG level and the M. Phil and Ph.D. courses at the Doctorate level. MSSW also offers the Post Graduate Diploma courses at the PG level. BSW and B.Sc. seats will be allotted on the basis of merit in the qualifying 10+2 examination. These courses are offered to students based on marks scored in their respective entrance exams.

MSSW Application Form 2021

Candidates can apply to all the courses at MSSW Online, through the official website of the college.  After filling the application form, a candidate can make the payment in different ways as per their choice either by  Demand Draft, Cash or Payment Gateway. Candidates need to follow the procedures properly. Every year application form is released by the college. Fill the application form and submit the form and make the payment through Debit/Credit or Net Banking. For a detailed application procedure, read the instruction for applicants given on the website. The candidates will be admitted strictly in accordance with the merit secured at the Entrance Examination keeping in view the rules in force regarding the reservations of seats of various categories of candidates.

MSSW Admission Fees

The fee includes tuition fees, examination fees, soft skills, mandatory certificate courses, University charges (Admission fees, Convocation fees, Permanent pass register fees), library, campus development, and all curricular activities. The full First-year fee or  First Installment must be paid at the time of Admission. The subsequent Annual fees and/or installments must be paid within one month after semester reopening. MSSW Fees for UG consists of INR 1,38,550/- IN B. Sc. specialization and INR 1,32,500 for B. Sc. PG Courses Fees are INR 1,39,400/- for M. Sw and M. A OF INR 1,48,900. Caution Deposit of INR 1,500/- and Alumni membership fee of Rs.500 is included in the First-year Fees. On graduation, the Caution deposit will be returned after deductions if any. The full First-year fee or First Installment must be paid at the time of Admission. If paying by Installment, INR 1,000/- has been added to the second installment towards processing fee. PG Students registering for placement services through Placement Cell of the college will have to pay INR 1000/- while registering at the beginning of 2nd year.

MSSW B. Sc. Admission 2021

Madras School of Social Work offers the BSW and B.Sc. courses at the UG level.  Applications to the Bachelor in Social Work and B.Sc. courses are accepted from candidates who have passed 10+2 from any stream. Admission to the BSW and B.Sc. courses will be done on the basis of merit in the qualifying 10+2 examination. Candidates must be less than 21 years of age to be eligible to apply. Candidates belonging to the SC/ ST/ BC/ MBC/ DNC categories will receive a relaxation of 5 years in the age requirement to be satisfied to be eligible to apply. Candidates will be called for a counseling process by the college based on merit. The seats will be allocated during this process.

MSSW M. Sc. and M. A. Admission 2021

Madras School of Social Work offers the MSW, M.Sc. and M.A. courses at the PG level. The M.A course is offered in four specializations and the M.Sc. course is offered in one specialization. Applications to the MSW and M.A courses will be accepted from candidates who have completed graduation of a minimum of 3 years from any discipline. Applicants to the M.Sc. course must have completed graduation of a minimum three years duration from the Psychology or Counseling Psychology streams. Admission to the Master of Social Work, M.Sc. and M.A. courses will be done on the basis of scores obtained in an entrance test, followed by a performance in the group discussion and personal interview rounds, which will be conducted by the college. The entrance test will test the applicants in the areas of General Aptitude, Quantitative Aptitude/ Data Interpretation, Reading Comprehension/ Verbal Ability, Social Awareness and General Knowledge.

MSSW M. Phil and Ph.D. Admission 2021

Madras School of Social Work offers the M.Phil. and Ph.D. courses at the doctorate level. The M. Phil course is offered in two specializations and the Ph.D. course is offered in one specialization. Applications to the M. Phil and Ph.D. courses are accepted from candidates who have completed post-graduation in the respective streams. Admission to the M. Phil and Ph.D. courses will be done on the basis of merit in the qualifying degree examination. The PG degree should be of two years duration. The PG degree should be completed in the 10+2+3 or 11+1+2 format.

The eligibility criteria for joining the college is getting good marks. The admission procedure is to fill up the application form provided by the college and wait for results. There is no entrance exam in the college. The cut off is to score good marks in 12th exams.

This year Applications will be available only Online. Applicants can apply online using any one of the following methods:

1. Online Application and payment of the application cost using online payment gateway through Netbanking, Credit/debit Cards.

2. Online Application and payment of application cost in person/by post through Demand Draft.

3. Online Application and payment of application cost in person by Cash in the College Office.

Be ready with a soft copy (Less than 100 kb size) of your passport size photograph. This will be the only upload required for application submission. The detailed procedure for Online Application will be put up shortly in this page and the Prospectus.
