LNMU previously known as Mithila University, was established in 1972 in the state of Bihar. Lalit Narayan Mithila University is a NAAC B-graded university and UGC-recognized university. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate, doctorate, certificate and diploma courses. These are offered in the field of humanities, fine arts, science, commerce, education, management and engineering. LNMU also offers distance learning courses in the same fields. Admission to this university is done on the basis of entrance exams such as CET/PAT/CAT-EAT/NEET UG/NEET PG/MAT/CMAT and merit lists prepared by the institute. The admission to the B.Ed course is currently ongoing. 

LNMU  is spread across an area of 201 acres. The campus is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and provides quality education to students in the area. There is a total of 21 PG departments, 2 affiliated law colleges and 24 affiliated colleges associated with the university. University has an Internal quality assurance cell (IQAC) that aims to make it a quality higher education institute and improve the grading.

LNMU Admission

LNMU offers admissions to various UG, PG, Doctoral, and Postdoctoral courses on the basis of merit lists and admission tests. Admission to the MDS course is done on the basis of NEET scores and MBA admission is done on the basis of CMAT and MAT scores. 

LNMU Eligibility criteria

The eligibility criteria is different for each course. It is as follows

B.Tech Eligibility Criteria

• The candidate must have completed 10+2 with PCM. They must score at least 50% in HSC.
• A qualifying score in the combined admission test & Engineering entrance TEST(CAT - EAT)

MDS Eligibility Criteria

• The candidate must have completed BDS from a recognized university or college
• The candidate must have a valid NEET Score

PhD. Eligibility Criteria

• The candidate must have completed post-graduation from a recognized university or college in a relevant subject
• The candidate must have a valid PAT score
