IIT Ropar Admission 2024: Check Admission Details

IIT Ropar offers UG, PG, and Ph.D. courses in the streams of Engineering, Science, and Doctoral courses. Admission to the UG, PG, and Ph.D. Courses are based on the Scores of JEE MAINS, JEE ADVANCE, JAM, and GATE entrance exams. JEE Advanced registrations can be done online on the JEE official website for IIT Ropar Engineering admissions. M.Tech interested candidates can log in to the official page of GATE and can register for the examination. JEE Main 2024 exam dates have been released by NTA. JEE Main 2024 Session 1 exam will be conducted between January 24, 2024 and February 1, 2024, whereas the session 2 exam will be held from April 1, 2024 and April 15, 2024. The registration process for JEE Main will start in December 2023 (tentatively). IIT JAM 2024 exam will be held on February 11, 2024. GATE 2024 exam between February 3, 2024 and February 11, 2024.

• M.Tech candidate with a minimum percentage of marks in the respective subjects in M.Sc/ B.Tech is eligible.
• M.Tech candidates should have a valid GATE rank or scorecard.
• For final-year students, they can apply provisionally with a valid GATE score and submit the required documents during the interview.
• M.Tech Selection Process candidates with a valid GATE/ GPAT score card and satisfying the eligibility criteria are selected for the interview and counseling process.
• IIT institutes process admission via Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP).
• The institutes or department conducts further rounds of written tests and interviews after COAP to fill the remaining unfilled seats.
• M.Sc candidate with minimum marks in the respective subjects in M.Sc is eligible to apply.
• M.Sc candidate should have a valid IIT JAM rank or scorecard.
• For final year students, they can apply provisionally with a valid IIT JAM score and submit the required documents during the interview.
• The candidates with a valid IIT JAM scorecard and satisfying the eligibility criteria are selected for the interview and counseling process.

• P.h.D. candidate should have completed M.Sc or M.Tech with good academic records and/ with a minimum of 60% (55% for SC/ ST) with a valid GATE/ IIT JAM/ UGC/ CSIR-JRF/ DBT-INSPIRE.
• A candidate with BE/ B.Tech from any IIT institute with an 8.0 CGPA is exempted from GATE qualification.
• A candidate with BE/ B.Tech from any IIT institute with an 8.0 CGPA and above with a valid GATE scorecard.
• A candidate with M.Sc from any IIT with an 8.0 CGPA is exempted from any national level entrance examination.
• P.h.D. selection process for IIT Ropar Ph.D. admission 2024 is based on eligibility criteria and a valid GATE score or CSIR-JRF/ UGC/ NBHM. 
• The candidate satisfying the eligibility criteria are selected for interview and counseling while some are exempted from direct admission.

IIT ROPAR APPLICATION PROCESS 2024

IIT Ropar 2024 can access the online application form 2024 from the official website of the University. The application process is the same for all the courses. Firstly, candidates need to submit the IIT Ropar online application for merit-based admissions. Candidates need to apply for the specialization which is relevant to the courses, and the relevant courses IIT Ropar fee structure.

Steps to Apply for Ropar

• Step 1: Go to the official website. 
• Step 2: Enter your email ID and password to create your log-in and view the form.
• Step 3: You will receive an email for verification from IIT Institute. Please click on the link provided in the mail to validate your account and set your password. 
• Step 4: Log in to the website and follow the main menu's link on the left to fill out your application form online. 
• Step 5: The relevant documents should be uploaded as required.
• Step 6: After submitting the application form 2024, you will receive an acknowledgment mail on your registered mail-id.
• Step 7: Complete the payment online using credit/ debit card/ net banking. For GEN/ OBC/ EWS category, the fee is INR 200 and for SC/ ST/ PWD, the fee is INR 100.
