MBA [Master of Business Administration] Details

IIM Bangalore MBA is a two-year full-time residential course. The course is offered as PGP or Post-Graduate program that leads to an MBA degree. The course duration is 6 semesters spread over two years and has an internship program intermediary the course. The institute offers an MBA in 18 specializations, such as Financial Accounting, Corporate Finance, Business, Government and Society, Managerial Communication-I, and Macroeconomics with major and minor electives.

IIM Bangalore MBA Eligibility Criteria

The IIM Bangalore MBA eligibility criteria include 50% overall in graduation (45% for SC/ST students). Candidates awaiting results in the final year of their undergraduate degree may also apply. However, if chosen, the admission will only be conditional until they submit a pre-final certificate approved by the relevant individuals at their prior institute or university, at the latest by June 30 of the admission year.

IIM Bangalore MBA Admission 

IIM Bangalore MBA admission is through CAT, conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) in November of each year at various locations throughout India. The CAT to IIM process includes a shortlist of candidates created based on merit scores. Students would then appear for group discussion and written ability tests. After that, students would then appear for personal interviews. Then the final merit list of students is prepared for admission. 

Application Procedure

• Submission of application with one of the following tests: CAT or GMAT exam.
• Indian citizens and foreigners authorized to take the CAT are considered domestic candidates.
• Candidates who make the shortlist take a written exam, go through a personal interview and supply two letters of recommendation from people familiar with their academic and professional achievements.
• Performance on the CAT exam, academic achievement, work experience, performance on the writing ability test, and interview performance all factor into the final decision for admission.

Application Procedure for Foreign Applicants

The IIM Bangalore MBA application procedure for students of foreign nationalities is given. Students must follow these steps.

• Direct applications are used to admit international applicants.
• Indian citizens or foreigners with valid passports or travel documents who reside outside of India and cannot take the Common Admission Test (CAT) administered by the Indian Institutes of Management at various centres throughout India are considered international candidates.
• These applicants must have a current Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) score and have the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore receive an official performance report (IIMB).
• Success on the GMAT, academic achievement, work experience, performance on the writing ability test, and interview are all factors towards the final decision.
