Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship (MGNF) Details

IIM Bangalore MGNF is a two-year certificate program in public policy and management. It was created on the initiative of the Government of India's (GoI) Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and is being carried out in partnership with State Skill Development Missions (SSDMs). The program is offered by different IIMs across many districts in India. In 2021-23, 9 other IIMs hosted the course across 880 communities. 

Admission to the IIM Bangalore MGNF fellowship program is through the entrance exam conducted by IIMs at various centers across all states. The application portal for the course is open for a specific duration only.

IIM Bangalore MGNF Eligibility Criteria

The IIM Bangalore MGNF eligibility criteria include overall graduation from a recognized university in any discipline (engineering, medical, regular degree course, etc.). The system has age criteria too. Applicants must be of age between 21 to 30 on the day closing date of application. Applicants must also be fluent in the regional language of their state and English, as the entrance exam will be in English.

IIM Bangalore MGNF Admission 

IIM Bangalore MGNF admissions through an entrance exam conducted by the institute. After the entrance exam result is announced, applicants will be called for the personal interaction process. This interaction will be held in the capital of the state of their choice. 

It will be a three-part interaction to assess the candidate's suitability, motivation, and proficiency in the official language of the state they are applying for, specifically the written Case Writing Ability (CWA) exam, the personal interview, and the written Language Proficiency Test (LPT). 

It is preferred that candidates have three years of job experience in the social or nonprofit sector and a desire to work in rural areas after secondary education. However, those motivated to work in this field and have yet to gain prior work experience may apply. 

Application Procedure 

Students must read the admission brochure beginning the IIM Ahmedabad MGNF application process. The application process has to be completed in one sitting; therefore, students must be careful and keep all the required documents ready. Since the application process is online, they will need scanned copies of the documents. These must be ready. The following are the steps for applying:

  • Visit the official website, limb.ac.in.
  • Click on the Admission on the top bar.
  • Select the course. 
  • Click on Admission at the sidebar and select Online Admission.
  • For first-time users, click Register Now.
  • Use your contact information to sign up.
  • Using your registered information, log in now.
  • Complete the application form and submit the required fees.
  • Both should be printed.

The IIMB will contact the selected students for further processes. 

Entrance Exam

IIMs conduct the IIM Bangalore MGNF entrance test in cooperation with IIMB in every state. The entrance exam will only be a paper-based test in the given locations. Students must bring their admit cards and 2 passport photos with them.
