Hansraj College is one of the biggest constituents of Delhi University and is currently ranked as the second-best college in the Delhi University (as per NAAC rating 2017). In order to get admission in this college, the students need to clear the cutoff which is published by the college. Usually, for popular courses like BCom(H), Eco(H), etc the cutoff is pretty high like around 96-98% for general Category students. A major portion of the admission procedure has been made online by the University of Delhi. Eligibility: Meeting cutoff list (Class 12th percentage).
Students take their admission on the basis of 10+2 examination's marks. However, there are certain courses for which entrance examination is conducted. B.Sc. Life Sciences is not one of those courses. Students can acquire direct admission to this course, based on their percentage in 10+2 examination. The form can be filled offline as well as online. The college releases it's cutoff marks in the 1st or 2nd week of June. The cutoff for life sciences is 94% to 95% for the general category and 87% to 93% for other category students.
Hello friends, I have graduated from Hansraj college with B.A. English ( Hons).I took admission in this college in 2012.since it's a Delhi university college so the admission procedure included two models during that time that is - direct admission( through cut-offs) and indirect( through entrance exam "cate"- combined aptitude test for English). In Hans raj, I got admission through direct mode as the "cate " was not compulsory to take admission into b.a. English ( Hons). For this program, the cut-offs very very high.for the general category, it was around 97℅ marks in class 12 plus 98 marks in English individually.for BBC, it was around 96℅ in class 12 plus 96 in English separately. And for sc/ st others it was 92℅ plus 90 marks in English .at that time the no. Of cut, offs issued for this course was around 4-5 in this college .the last cut off being 5 th one.n the cut off was :-general (admission closed till 3 rd cut off.) ,ABC( 85.5 in class 12 plus 94 in eng. Individually),sc/st(77 or 80 something in class 12 n 94 in English separately).during that tym there were many cut-offs unlike today .but I was lucky enough to get admission into this college in the third cut off itself.actually, I got admission into rajas college in the first cut off but my dream college was Hans raj so I did not miss the chance to grab that opportunity.the college is full of enthusiasm n the best part about college is its faculty.yes, !! The teachers are quite friendly and the atmosphere of the college is really very nice.currently, many changes or you can say many improvements have been made into this college.which includes following- renovation of an office building ., library .expansion of canteen ( in terms of menu, many new dishes being introduced which are relished by the students). A new gym has been inaugurated.transport facility have been provided to the students to travel from metro to college n vice versa by the way of introducing cycles in the college and this doesn't end here.the college is a " celebrity point" ,as the college witnesses the arrival of many celebrities like Akshay Kumar, shah rukh khan ,the latest being the sports celebrity Mr Injeti Srinivasan (SAI ,chief of India) who has promised to build a new badminton hall and a new swimming pool in the college. Also, there are many societies in the college according to the interest of the students - dance society, enabling unit( for ph students) drama society n so on..the college is a representative of many national n international sportsmen. So the college is a combo pack of studies, sports, entertainment, and does its best to make a student an all rounder by developing the students' personality in all aspects of life.my three years were the same combo pack.so good luck for your admissions too!!:-)
There are usually five or six cut offs in line with the vacant seats. The general seats close by the second cut off.
