Eligibility criteria: Having a minimum of 75% in 12th and 10th and passing IIT JEE Mains. Admission procedure included evaluation of the final score of JEE Mains and formulating a list based on the ranks. We had to pick our choices of the subject and according to the ranks, the choices were allocated to the better student. 5 such rounds were held and after that, a final seat filling round followed a month after the classes began. Entrance exam: IIT JEE Mains Cutoffs: For mechanical, INR 20000 was the cutoff for general, INR 35000 for obc, INR 100000 for sc and INR 30000 for st.
Admission procedure first you give the JEE mains exam after that does a committee called joint admission department you have to register on that after that they will give you the Date and timings of the counselling procedure which is done at DTU if you are not taking computer science engineering then you must have a good rank at least at about 300-400 starting and ending is I think about 1200 and more increases with time I think there are 7 rounds in the counselling procedure and the cut off increases gratuity the board exams marks are not in taken care of from the previous year and then there is it software after that there is electronics and communication engineering branch after that there is electrical and then gradually to mechanical production
For entrance to DTU for a Bachelor in Technology (B.Tech) course the sole criteria as of 2017 is your rank and score in JEE MAINS exam. This is a joint entrance exam conducted by CBSE every year for entrance to the maximum of the engineering colleges across the nation. If you've got a decent rank and marks in the exam then you can predict if you get to go into DTU from checking on various rank predictors available on the web according to previous year trends. The trends for the cutoffs generally vary every year but broadly the pattern remains the same except if there's a change in the moral policies of admission procedure. My rank was somewhere around 12k and I got admission in Software Engineering branch in DTU.
You Enter via the scores (and rank) of JEE Mains. Held every year during April. Prior to 2012, entry was based on AIEEE, but this mode is obsolete now. Below is the approx General Category rank cutoff for various branches COE - 6k IT-10K SE-12K ECE-14K MCE-13K ME-16K ENE-30K EP-40K.
1) AIEEE rank was the eligibility criteria. Online application and then round by round counselling.
2) 18000 AIR was Delhi Students cutoff. The branches like Computers and Software had the highest cutoff followed by electronics, electrical and civil.
To take admission in DTU, one has to write JEE MAIN exam and they should apply for JAC COUNCELLING. One having 25000 ranks (general category) in JEE MAIN can easily get admission to the college. There is an 85% reservation for students who have completed 11th, 12th from DELHI.
