Coimbatore Institute of Technology was established by the V Rangasamy Naidu Educational Trust in 1956. The institute attained autonomous status in 1987. CIT Coimbatore offers around seven branches in Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) and six branches in Master of Engineering (M.E) and also a course in Master of Computer Application (MCA). Apart from conventional courses, a five-year integrated M.Sc course in Software Systems/Data Science/Decision and Computing Science is also available to students.
