Central Institute of Tool Design, [CITD] Hyderabad established in 1968 by the Govt. of India with the assistance of UNDP and ILO is a pioneering Institution in the field of Tool Engineering in the Country. The Institute was initially established as a United Nations Development Programme Project and was executed by International Labour Organization (ILO). It aims to provide Training of the technical personnel in the Designing & Manufacture of Tools, Dies & Moulds. The Institute conducts training programs right from Diploma to Post Graduation level. The institute is also conducting two Master of Engineering programs (CAD/CAM & Tool Design) in collaboration with Osmania University and Master of Technology (Mechatronics) in collaboration with JNTUH, Hyderabad. For CITD admission, candidates can apply to any of the courses available in the college only in the Offline mode

Central Institute of Tool Design Fees:

  • The tuition fee for Diploma in Engineering is INR 108000

Central Institute of Tool Design Infrastructure Facilities:

  • CITD has a full-fledged special library with a collection of 9424 technical books on various disciplines of Tool engineering and allied subjects. 
  • CITD is equipped with the latest Metrology facilities like –Computerised 3D Coordinate Measuring Machine, Universal Measuring Machines, Optical Profile Projector, Surface Roughness Measuring Machine, Height Masters, etc., and undertakes an inspection of Tools/Components.
  • The Calibration Centre at CITD is equipped with a Calibrating machine for various instruments, Micrometers, Dial Indicators, Slip Gauges, Thread Gauges.

Central Institute of Tool Design Eligibility Criteria:

The eligibility criteria for various courses offered by the institute are given in the table below:

 M.Tech  
  • B.E. / B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering/ Production Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Mechatronics or equivalent with an aggregate of at least 55% marks
  • The score obtained in CUCET 2019.
 
PGD
  • B.E. / B.Tech degree or equivalent in relevant discipline from a recognized university.
The score obtained in TSICET 2019. 
Diploma
  • Class 10 or equivalent from a recognized board with an aggregate of at least 50% marks(general)/45% marks(ST/SC)
  • Passed Class 10 or equivalent from a recognized board.
  • The score obtained in National level entrance test conducted by CITD

Central Institute of Tool Design Admission:

Candidates can apply to any of the courses available in the college only in the Offline mode. Admission to ME and M.Tech courses will be granted based on the score obtained in CUCET 2019. The mode of selection shall be based on merit in the written test conducted by J.N.T.U.H, Hyderabad. The GATE rank holders also need to qualify themselves in the Entrance Test. Candidates must bring all the original certificates for verification.

  • Original certificates of the qualifying examination
  • Certificate of Physical Fitness from an Assistant Civil Surgeon. 
  • Affidavit - an undertaking for good conduct and behavior
