Bhim Rao Ambedkar College, New Delhi was established in the year 1991. BRAC is a constituent co-educational college of the University of Delhi and is funded by Delhi Government. The University has selected the college as one of the Regional-cum-Study Centres to facilitate undergraduate teaching under Personal Contact Programme [PCP] for School of Open Learning [SOL] students. B.R. Ambedkar College is also one of the Centres for teaching to the girl students under the Non-Collegiate Women Education Board [NCWEB], University of Delhi.

The institute has a well- maintained infrastructure. Bhim Rao Ambedkar College infrastructure facilitates its students. The college offers various facilities like a library, bank, auditorium, IT facilities, games, medical, and other facilities.

Library:

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar College Library is equipped with the academic and intellectual needs of its users. The library is spread on two floors and has been renovated to make it more user-friendly. The BRAC library has an open access system, spacious reading rooms ensuring an atmosphere conducive to study. The library is housed by more than 35,000 books with a subscription to many newspapers and magazines.

  1. The BRAC library is connected to the Delhi University network with access to DULS databases and e-resources.
  2. The library is a member of N-LIST [a program of INFLIBNET] to provide remote access to users to a huge number of e-resource.
  3. There is a separate consultation reading section on Ambedkar, Gandhi, Nehru and other such personalities.

IT Infrastructure:

Ambedkar College, Delhi has IT infrastructure with facilities including 123 computer labs, 20 teacher's laptop, 813 laptops for students, 32 printers, 150 LAN terminals, 2 scanners, 27 LCD projectors, 12 online UPS and many other facilities. The college campus is Wi-Fi enabled with controller-based connectivity with 100 Mbps speed internet connectivity. BRAC is under camera surveillance with 71 CCTV cameras.

Auditorium:

BRAC, Delhi has a fully air-conditioned auditorium with a seating capacity of about 250 people. The auditorium is equipped with audio-visual facilities such as floor mikes, hand mikes, a computer, and a screen with a projector. The auditorium assists seminars, workshops, lectures, and debates for the benefits of students and faculties.

Bank:

The Oriental Bank of Commerce is situated in Dr. Ambedkar College, Delhi campus. The bank is fully computerized providing banking facilities to teaching, non-teaching staff, and students of BRAC. The bank also provides an ATM facility on the campus. 

Games and Sports:

Dr. Ambedkar College, Delhi encourages budding talent in the field of sports. The institute has a spacious ground assisting games like archery softball, swimming, volleyball baseball table tennis, chess, badminton, football, kho-kho, and netball. BRAC has also proposed a new indoor stadium inside the college.

ACADEMICS & FACULTY

Classes are held on a routine basis.The timings are also good. The quality of teachers is good. Overall, on academic perspective experience is good.


CLUBS & ASSOCIATIONS

Various societies are present if you want to join them like NSS etc.The college fest is held in the month of february and various other events keeps on going the whole year like annual sports meet etc. Life in college is normal.

The class timing is from 9 am to 4 pm. The projects and assignments differ from time to time. The overall experience in college was good. We have well-experienced faculties.
