Adamas University is an evolving educational institution in East India, nestled away from the City of Joy - Kolkata. It provides students with superior infrastructure and a plethora of course options ranging from engineering to mass communication. Enrollers enjoy the multi-facilities the University has to offer from Inverted Microscopes, Cell Culture Labs, Autoclave, Modern Computers and more. 

Students mitigate the uncomplicated admission process with ease, but are blown away by the cosmic tuition fees. Reviews have thrashed out the University’s unreal fee margins. However, some debate that it may be worth it for a handful of courses. The internet has also expressed their thoughts on the opulent campus and passable academics of AU. 

The word on the street is Adamas University is currently struggling with a high attrition rate due to constant clashes between their management and faculty. In the end, students have to bear the brunt as transitions become difficult to cope with, in the middle of academic sessions.

Adamas University is spread over a massive 120 acre of land, only 13 kilometres from the Subash Chandra Bose International Airport Kolkata. It hosts 5000+ day scholars and around 2000 residential students and faculty members. 

It is equipped with state-of-the art classrooms, innovation lounges, high-tech laboratories, access to latest equipment, a massive playground, a cafeteria and a canteen. Let us check some of the prime infrastructure features on-campus below.

• Cell-culture Lab: Open to students from B.Sc., BTech and other Science courses for an enriching practical experience.

After sampling out some of the organic notions online, it is fair to say that the academic scenario is progressing steadily, while for some departments there is still a lot to work upon.

Faculties in departments like Data Science, Microbiology, Chemistry etc., are deemed top-notch, with most professors being PhD holders or IIT graduates. In contrast, Departments of Engineering and Mass Communication feel they deserve a more well-rounded faculty support. 

Again, with the high attrition rate at Adamas University, with both students and teachers leaving the college mid-semester has left a negative impression upon the minds of enrollers and parents. Although the curriculum is up-to-date and students are satisfied with the course structure, the University requires a more professional teaching staff.

College-goers feel that Adamas University is a safe and  secure environment for students from all backgrounds to thrive. Its highly inclusive nature can be underlined by the University’s active efforts in spreading awareness and ending caste-based discrimination through the ‘Anti-Discrimination Cell for (SC/ST)’. 

The University has a mixed crowd with students from SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwD and minority communities. Students and faculty are also sensitive towards the prevailing gender issues and ensure that external factors do not hinder the academic atmosphere.

Analysing the Dress Code & Code of Conduct

Adamas University is flexible when it comes to their Dress Code, requiring students to enter the college premises in a presentable fashion in modest outfits. Their general code of conduct is lengthy and stern with rules pertaining to discipline, attendance, examination, behaviour and more. Some of the most distinctive rules featured in the student handbook are, 

• Zero-tolerance policies for Issues regarding Ragging and Eve-teasing.
• Spitting, smoking and littering is prohibited.
• Students must maintain 75% attendance at all costs, or else they will be barred from semester-end exams.
• Students must cooperate during student searches.
• Keys to the hostel room must be submitted to the warden.
• Serious action will be taken against vandalism.
• Fire safety and emergency evacuation protocols must be maintained.

Economical Hostel & Food

Adamas University hostel fees range from INR 9,500 to INR 11,500. Students find the pricing fair, although they are dissatisfied with the size of the rooms. As per the online studens' reviews, accommodation standards are average with necessary amenities available and patchy wi-fi services. The mess serves simple breakfast, lunch, high tea and supper, but lacks variety. Another astonishing fact about Adamas University is that authorities have not hired regular security guards for the campus but Bouncers! Needless to say, anyone seen creating nuisance or disrupting the college environment is dealt with by authorities effectively. 

Students feel extremely safe on-campus and in the hostels as their strict security round-the-clock supervises and records campus activities. No major concerns have been addressed surrounding the security of Adamas University. It is safe to say, students are satisfied with the CCTV cameras, bouncers and no-tolerance policies against discrimination, ragging and eve-teasing implemented by Adamas University.

Wave of Events & Curriculars at AU

The event schedule at Adamas University is packed with programmes, cultural events, sports competitions, seminars, and fairs around the year. The University encourages students to participate in extracurriculars via events or through its various clubs. 

Students can support their hobbies like dance, literature, theatre and more through the Adamas clubs. Moreover, exclusive opportunities are available for students wishing to be entrepreneurs, social workers and robotics enthusiasts via seminars and skill-development classes.

Adamas University also hosts an annual fest ADINOVA which is marked as the biggest cultural festival of the University. All departments unanimously celebrate the event with guest performances, competitions, celebrity appearances and more. Other notable events is the Basanta Festival which celebrates the incoming of spring through colours. 

Good Placement Assistance

Adamas University’s placement records are only increasing each year, with organisations from all industry-types honouring the campus. Currently, the highest placement package is INR 18 LPA.

Students have addressed a looming concern that good placement opportunities are only handed to students from Engineering and Sciences. Although, the college has argued that placement opportunities are only provided given the students apply for placement services. Moreover, placement assistance will not be provided by authorities  if students are seeking external career aid. 

Things to Do Around Adamas University

Adamas University Campus is slightly off-route from the metro city, which reduces the number of things to do around the college. However, we have collected a list of few places where students can meet and unwind.

• Chai Pe Adda - A small tea shop serving local biscuits, milk tea and machine coffee at cheap prices is a go-to place for students in between the rigorous lectures.
• Hot n Fresh - A drive-through restaurant serving light snacks like chicken popcorn and cold beverages is an ideal place to catch up after college.
• The Village Cafe & Restaurant - A fun place serving a range from local, north-indian and chinese dishes can break the monotony of residential students eating mess food everyday.
• Adamas Food Court - Situated in the campus students spend most of their time exchanging notes and enjoying some tasty food at reasonable prices.

Reasons to Choose Adamas University

Adamas University is merely 7 years old, with a young yet knowledgeable faculty. Although they have faced some harsh comments on the internet due to their lack of concentration on academia, there are also many upsides to the University like good placements and hi-class infrastructure, which may make it an ideal option for many aspirants.
