• The AIMA-specified exam has no age limit.

Admission Process for MBA Colleges Accepting MAT 2025 Scores

The Management Aptitude Test (MAT), organized by AIMA (All India Management Association) is accepted by over 600 MBA/PGDM colleges in India.

Step 1: Register for MAT

• You have to register online at AIMA MAT official website.
• You will need to choose the test mode:
  1. PBT - Paper-based test
  2. CBT - Computer-based test
  3. IBT - Internet-based test (from home)
• The application fees are INR 2100 for the MAT test in single mode and INR 3300 for the MAT test in the two modes.

Step 2: Download the MAT Admit Card

• The admit cards are released around 3 to 4 days before the exam.
• Admit cards will be separate for PBT, CBT, and IBT.

Step 3: Take the MAT Exam

• The MAT exam is a 2-hour 30-minute exam with 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) organized within five sections:
  1. Language Comprehension
  2. Intelligence and Critical Reasoning
  3. Data Analysis and Sufficiency
  4. Mathematical skills
  5. Indian and Global Environment
• The marking scheme is +1 for correct answers and -0.25 for incorrect answers.

Step 4: Check MAT Results

Step 5: College Shortlisting

• You can select up to 5 colleges while registering for MAT (without any fee).

• In MAT, a college publishes its admission cutoffs (normally between 60 to 95 percentiles, based on the institute, the cut-offs can be more than 90 percentile).

Step 6: Group Discussion (GD) / Personal Interview (PI) / WAT

• The shortlisted candidates will then be invited for the GD–PI–WAT round.
• Some Indo-colleges conduct a psychometric test, or could conduct a case study analysis.

Step 7: Final Admission Offer

• The final admission offer will be based on MAT score + GD/PI/WAT performance + academic background + work experience (if applicable).
